I slept rather well until I had a panic attack early this morning, all about this upcoming surgery - will I end up owing a fortune for it because I don't trust my HMO? - and my current financial state - will the PUA unemployment come through? - and it wasn't easy to get back to sleep.

DR vixmom, what a horrible day for your mother and you!  I hope all goes well with the orthopedic surgeon on Monday.  I think she's been very lucky to live on her own to the age of 88.

When my dad got into his late 70s I started to worry about his driving.  He was constantly picking up and driving to Tucson, Yellowstone, wherever and whenever the urge to move took him.  I had visions of his having a heart attack on some mountain road out west, taking several cars with him, and the estate ending up in unlawful death suits.  When his oncologist made him give up driving at the age of 83, I heaved a big sigh of relief.

I have no plans for today beyond a possible jaunt to the corner bodega.

Kitty cleanup is a thing of the past and I'm on my second cuppa coffee.  The cats' favorite dry food is a chicken-salmon Meow Mix that is out of stock everywhere.  I bought another Meow Mix flavor and they won't go near it.

That says it all, right there. Hoping for a better couple of days for vixmom.

My dad was told to put the car keys down at about vixmom’s mom’s age. In his case, it was growing eyesight issues and probably slower responses in general. We were all glad that he did it with no objection.

DR George is holding a pair of low cards!
DR Elmore, I’ll see your 37 and raise you 44.

This is what I bring home from Costco, two at a time.
$8.00 each.

I can barely tote the 37 lbs!  I was just comparing prices on my litter: $25.95 at Amazon, $15.95 at Petco.

I discovered around ten years ago that I was lactose intolerant, so I gave up milk.  This past week I finally tried Lactaid and loved it.  I'm back to cereal for breakfast.

That’s funny, BK and I both pulling out an early Coppola feature yesterday.

I still need to watch mine straight through. But I never even heard of You’re a Big Boy Now, so I never ordered it from the Warner Archive. That will have to be rectified sometime, hopefully when there’s a good release.

Believe me, when I get these home and UPSTAIRS to the room where the litter boxes are, I’m about done for the day. :)   (This is also where having a car and a nearby Costco make all the difference!)

And price-wise, there’s no deal on litter that even comes close to that. Not even with the car and other warehouse club memberships close at hand.

DR GEORGE if I end up with a bag that can't be closed.....I use a chip clip or two.....of course litter is much heavier....but at least it would be closed.

The POLITESSE of the general public has been tried during the pandemic to be sure.

Example from the Long Island Nuz this morning:

"Yesterday while we were waiting in line to get into the grocery store some woman claimed she was only going in to get her glasses fixed and the policeman let her in!  I'm sure she was going in to get ice cream and toilet paper."

We have a ton of chip clips, but none can compare with a good old fashioned binder clip. I refuse to use anything else, even for the chips. The larger ones should even work for a heavy bag of litter.
