DR vixmom, what a horrible day for your mother and you!  I hope all goes well with the orthopedic surgeon on Monday.  I think she's been very lucky to live on her own to the age of 88.

That says it all, right there. Hoping for a better couple of days for vixmom.

Ditto.

I discovered around ten years ago that I was lactose intolerant, so I gave up milk.  This past week I finally tried Lactaid and loved it.  I'm back to cereal for breakfast.

That's great.  I used to use it in my cereal but now I seem ok with regular non fat milk.  If I cook the milk with cereal I am fine.  For dry cereal, I chew a Lactaid.

I went out to feed the kitties this morning. They're slightly getting used to me. I was able to stand there and watch the Mama Cat eat from about four feet away while they ran in and out of the shed. One even started feeding on her while the mother ate. As long as I don't move, they'll ignore me -- unless we make eye contact. Then they get all shy and run back into the shed and hide.

I am enjoying reading about your cats.

I went for a walk. The temperature climbed 10 degrees while I was out here. It went from 82 degrees to 92. And I wasn't thinking when I dressed. I had a black T-shirt on. Mistake. I did have a hat on.

So I feel like she’ll be in better  hands

I would think it is a big relief knowing she is seeing a good doctor.

DR George is holding a pair of low cards!
DR Elmore, I’ll see your 37 and raise you 44.

This is what I bring home from Costco, two at a time.
$8.00 each.

I can barely tote the 37 lbs!  I was just comparing prices on my litter: $25.95 at Amazon, $15.95 at Petco.

Believe me, when I get these home and UPSTAIRS to the room where the litter boxes are, I’m about done for the day. :)   (This is also where having a car and a nearby Costco make all the difference!)

In 1966 I worked at the Bruin Theater when this was showing.  One day Tony Bill came in to see the movie.  Another girl & working behind the candy counter were all smiles over the super cute guy we helped.  After he went in to the movie the door man couldn't stop laughing because we had no clue it was Tony Bill.  He was much better looking in person ;D

I hear the great mezzo-soprano Rosalind Elias has died.  I met her after she had been in the last Follies revival.

A week ago I trimmed my bangs for the second time.  Unlike the previous time I was rather pleased with the results.  This morning I was very impressed, until we walked in the pouring rain.

Following DR elmore's post was not the best timing for a frivolous post.

I couldn't remember if it was the Village or the Bruin.  It opened there on December 9, 1966 and I must have seen it either on my birthday or a day or two after.  Did I say hi to you?

Hello, 9-1-1?  There’s been an accident!  No, I don’t think anyone was hurt.  It looks like a movie reminiscence got into a wreck with a cat litter comparison.  Yes, we’ll wait here, thank you.

Watching the extras on Dr. Strangelove. I didn't know that the original press screening was supposed to happen on the day that Kennedy was shot.

It caused a change in the movie. In the original script, Slims Pickins had a joke with Dallas mentioned in the payoff or punchline. They dubbed it over with Vegas.
