Broad Ripple is a nice "village-y" part of town with a parking problem, but lots of little shops.  The High School there is the theatre magnet.
Also Frances Farmer lived in an apartment on College Avenue for many years - andher decorating business was located at around 43rd and College after she left WFBM tv.

Remember when Lark Cigarettes and Jeno's Pizza Rolls were both using the William Tell Overture for the theme in their commericials.  There was a great ad for Jeno's Pizza Rolls (maybe a Stan Freberg ad) where a man taking a cigarette from a red park (obviously supposed to be a Lark pack) stops the Jeno's person and says, "I've been meaning to talk to you about your theme."  Suddenly, a gloved hand clamps on the "Lark" guy's shoulder and an off-camera voice says, "I've been meaning to talk to you about the same thing."  The Lark guy turns around to see The Lone Ranger and Tonto behind him.

I remember that now.  ;D

On THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW DVD sets, there are commercials with Dick and Mary shilling for Kent cigarettes.

I was pleased to see that ABC has renewed LOST, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, ALIAS, and BOSTON LEGAL for next season, though I don't watch the latter show.

There was no mention about ALIAS starting its new season in January as it did this past year.

Well, you could make it a class project!

And once the sprouts are sprouted, you can put them on top of your salads in or on a sandwich!

Why were there so many missed lines and cues on DARK SHADOWS that were not "re-taken"?  Well, I often wondered myself, and I finally found the answer.  DARK SHADOWS was "live to tape" because the company only had access to the ABC tape bank for a specific amount of time each day....not much more than 30 minutes - so it was rehearsed and shot in the time it took to broadcast - no retakes, no second chances.

                IMPORTANT NEWS FLASH!!!!!
Quote
Illegal Chia Pet Dump found in New Mexico!

Most people give little thought to what becomes of their Chia pets after the holiday season has become history

It's very sad that few Chia owners realize that the proper disposal of thier Chia Pet is crucial in averting potential environmental disasters.

The photos to the left depict just two localized outbreaks of  what has now been dubbed "Wild Chia", which presently is spreading wildly along the I-40 corridor in New Mexico.

The actual Chia plant is not native on our globe, but was created artificially under laboratory conditions in an effort to promote the sale of clay pottery and sound activated electrical switches.

What happens when the Chia Pet plants are allowed to propagate in the wild is currently New Mexico's worst ecological nightmare this century.

According to a report recently published in the ECOLOGICAL TIMES by renowned botanist Alex Mendelsohn of the Maine Institute, the problem is immense.

"Unless something is done immediately, nearly all the red-rock formations in New Mexico will be covered with Chia Pet plants in five years" warns Mendelsohn.

"The natural landscape of New Mexico is ideal habitat for Chia Pet plants and closely resembles the clay pottery they were designed to thrive on" he adds.

Chia Pet plants have few known natural enemys, most of which are too busy fishing to assist in the New Mexico disaster.

Without anything to check the spread of these plants, they will cover the state in a short time and ultimately destroy all life on earth.

 PROPER CHIA PET DISPOSAL

To properly dispose of your Chia Pet, you should contact the Chia Disposal Hotline at 1-800-555-3344. You should NEVER discard Chia Pet plants in the trash, flush down the toilet or incinerate them yourself.

Good Afternoon!

Well... I went to the front desk to get some quarters for the laundry machines...

"OK. How many quarters do you need?"
-Just about $3.00.
"OK.   Oh, we're out of quarters in the drawer.  Let me check the stash in the closet."
-Thanks.
"In the meantime, here's some soap and fabric softener."
-OK.
(I was going to use the quarters to buy the soap and fabric softener.)
-"Well, here's your change.  Need more soap?"
-No, Thank you.

Now that's what I call service.  I've actually been hearing a lot about the service here from some other people in the cast.  Practically bending over backward even for the simple stuff, practically offering to tie your shoes!

Guess I should start filling out that comment cards.

I remember a commercial for Zest soap where they showed a person in a shower (from the shoulders up only ;)) and the shower door was cloudy from shower build-up.  They ran their finger down the shower door to show how gunky it was.  Then another person in a shower with much less shower build-up said that they used Zest soap because there was "less schmutz" left on the door after taking a shower.  Does anyone else remember this??  I specifically remember them using the phrase "less schmutz" (I'm guessing on the spelling) in the commercial.  I think that it might have been when my family lived in Colorado from '73-'76 and I have no idea if it was a national, regional or local commercial.  Would the word "schmutz" be used in a commercial today?? ::)

Thanks, DR JRand. I remember now that Circle in the Square IS the theater it's going into. I remember reading an article somewhere that said they're hoping they'll get spillover from WICKED patrons who don't get cancellations.
