They also tape the "interviews" we see during the pit stops, so they don't have a lot of time.

DRJENNIFER - Survivor was a good idea, but I don't like the execution, and haven't seen an entire episode of the series since the first season.  I don't watch THE APPRENTICE because I don't like Donald Trump.

Hey Gang! Thanks for the vibes. All seemed to go well, it seemed like a cool place and I felt like I acquitted myself nicely . Now I'll just forget about it for awhile so I don't get my hopes up and drive myself batty.

Funny thing: I was on my way to the subway to go down there, and I noticed I had forgotten my tie, left it in a drawer in my office. I phoned a co-worker and she brought it down to the street, I walked by and took it from her like it was the secret microfilm or something. Then I walked into a cleaner's shop and asked if I could use their mirror.

JRand- Vibes back at ya. You should try to watch HARD CONTRACT when Fox Movie Channel shows it. Another great teaming of Remick and Coburn. With Burgess Meredith and Sterling Hayden as well. Remick looks like a goddess in parts of this movie. It's a cerebral, oddball film.

THE MOLE was the thinking man's reality show. I enjoyed that first season, then ABC seemed like they didn't want to air it anymore. Then the celebrity garbage version.

That's what feedback is for!   ::)

Rolling eyes, JMK?   Seriously?  If you mean them with the same "oh, brother!" sarcasm you've implied you wish you had directed at questions from potential buyers, then I'm saddened that you used them.

The folks who sent the wrong items had perfect feedback records.  There was no reason to be suspicious until the wrong item arrived.

I ALWAYS check feedback.  And it almost always works out well.  But there are a few times it doesn't.  And when it doesn't you ASK QUESTIONS.

I think the first question you cited was a reasonable one -- probably came from someone who had been previously burned by a seller showing a like-new item and then passing off something used and/or shoddy.  It DOES happen and a seller would be stupid NOT to ask.

It's not an attack against you, personally.

Good Afternoon!

Well, I got a nice "nap" in - about two hours or so.  Then I headed out to run some errands, and now I'm back here watching TV - I really am a Food Network addict. ;)

The rain wasn't too bad while I was out driving, but the potholes... YIKES!  There's one big one right at the intersection to turn into the hotel.  Watch out!!!

The forecast for the weekend is for nicer weather - Yeah!  I've asked to have to car tomorrow morning, and I'm guessing I shall be doing some exploring then.  I'm not sure I'll head downtown, but I may drive through it and around just to check out the skyline.  And, yes, I will have a few culinary stop to make along the way.  :)

A friend of mine and his brother have applied for the next edition of THE AMAZING RACE. I'm sure they have many thousands of entries, but Ken and his brother are hopeful. Ken's a world traveler who never stays in hotels when he travels to China or India, but improvs his accommodations, so TAR would be right up his alley, in fact, probably luxurious compared to what he's used to doing.

Rodzinski I haven’t seen HARD CONTRACT since it came out and I still remember how strikingly beautiful Lee Remick was in the movie.  Is it going to be on Fox in the near future?

I’m glad you are pleased now with the atmosphere at work-hope it only gets better with time.  :)

DR MBarnum - As for Barnum Does Hollywood...  I'd pay to see that movie!  Heck, I pay to MAKE that movie!!!

;D

And as for your diabetes...  I'm thinking that would kind of give you an edge among potential contestants.  I've never seen the application, so I'm not sure what types of restrictions they have in regard to pre-existing health conditions, but the additional challenge of monitoring and maintaining your blood sugar could be considered a plus.  -And I'm sure the Diabetes Foundation would appreciate the publicity too.

As for first color TV...  Hmm... I believe my family always had a color TV - at least to my "limited" memory.  However, I do recall that our main TV was a large B&W console - that sucker was heavy!  And it lasted for years!  It was "my TV" for a year or two.  I don't think we had a larger color TV until I was about 10-11 years old - and that may have coincided with the purchase of our first VCR, a JVC, the top-loading one with the big buttons.

Oh yes, the potholes.  Well after all, DRJOSE, we have more important things to worry about....I.E. a new and bigger stadium for the Colts!

And continuing the "reality TV" theme...

If such programs existed during the "golden age" of theatre, film and TV, which celebrity - or even "non-celebrity" would you like to have a camera on 24/7?

I have a feeling I know how two particular DRs would answer that question.... And they would have the same answer!

Jane, it doesn't appear to be on this month's schedule, but it shows every now and then. I'll let you know if I see it coming. I watch that channel all the time.

We had a color tv my whole life, but we had a b&w down in the basement, and when I was eventually allowed to have that in my room, it was quite the luxury!

Our family TV didn't have a remote, and since I sat closest to the set, I became the remote!

Jane, I stayed at the hotel just behind your photo.  If you were to walk up the left side of the street behind the plaza it was one more block up on the left.  The Plaza had a nice cappucino walk-through place when I was there--I remember getting a very good mocha.  And that park across the street is cute, too.

I found this story in our local paper funny, well not the story but the writing of it.  There was an interesting article on the end of an eight-year stint without a homicide in Ashland.  The story ends with the following statement of a man who killed his wife and then fled Ashland.  Two days later he was found in a shopping center parking lot.  “He apparently committed suicide by killing himself”.  I suppose he could have hired someone to do it for him-LOL

RLP, the point of my first post about eBay questions was:  if I had lied about the item being mint in my description (which is really what is implied by the buyer's question), why for heaven's sake would I suddenly tell the truth if someone asked me if it were really mint?

RE: "Project Greenlight" - I watched the first season of it when it started on HBO.  I like it.  It had it's moments - and I still keep meaning to look up the film that got made that season.  Very interesting that Bravo picked it up, but, sadly, another sign of Bravo's continual "evolution".  Remember the days when they actually had Arts programming?  I loved  catching all the South Bank Shows.  And, of course, when they started showing commercials...  ah, well....

How quickly we take things for granted. DR Rodzinski mentioning the remote reminded me I didn't have a remote of any kind until I bought my first VCR, and it was a a corded remote with one button so you could pause the player or let it run. That was it!

Now, next to my recliner, I have a remote caddy with six remotes in it.

The South Bank Show was fantastic! I taped their hour on Noel Coward, and it's the best documentary on his life I've ever seen. Same with their hour on Al Jolson. Beautifully done. I taped it, too.
