I'd already put in my cart the Cheesecake Factor dinner treat for tonight, but by the time I went to place the order at four it was too late - they close at four-thirty.  I really wanted that, too.  So, I defaulted to my favorite pasta at Stanley's - that should be here shortly.

What is their cut off time for orders?

Cheesecake delivery is roughly forty minutes.  Had I ordered at three-thirty I'd have been fine.

Bruce I think you should have taken a photo of the traffic today.  It seems your local FB friends can't imagine it ;)

Amazon informs me that there is a week or more delay these days in publishing paperback books.  Kindle editions, however, go live almost immediately.

Therefore I am proud to announce that the Kindle edition of BUD ABBOTT ALONE is now available for download on Amazon.

Growing up, Abbott and Costello were my heroes.  I've seen every movie they made, many more than once.

In fact, during the late 1960s, I was fortunate enough to meet Bud Abbott when he was voicing the A&C cartoon TV series.

I enjoyed writing this one.

Michael Connelly has a new mystery coming out, Fair Warning, that uses his reporter character from The Poet. Looking forward to that.

The pasta from Stanley's was perfect, and really still hot when it arrived.  I ate every last morsel.

Bruce I think you should have taken a photo of the traffic today.  It seems your local FB friends can't imagine it ;)

I wanted to, but it's hard when you're actually driving.  I asked the question there because no one can explain this phenomenon to me.  First it was the beaches are open - the irony there is the traffic was going in the opposite direction towards Hollywood and downtown.  No beaches there last I looked.  Then the other thing was Memorial Day - so, if I'm understanding this, starting yesterday, everyone was leaving town for Memorial Day - and going WHERE exactly to do WHAT exactly, which is my entire point.  Some said more businesses are open, like Lowe's - so thousands of cars are on the freeway going to Lowe's?  For me, if this had been going on the entire time I would get it.  But up until yesterday, which there seemed to be more cars each day, the flow of the traffic was fine - one could always go 65mph.  And then bam - bumper-to-bumper.

I am not sure I read The Poet.   I missed a few of the Bosch books.  I did read the second book with the reporter.  Thanks for letting me know about this 3rd one.

It is strange it was so sudden.

That is why we are still on page four.  Everybody is out driving on the L.A. freeway.
