Well, I have to report on my evening. Since 8:00, I have been setting up my new television set.

Yes, after I got my tax information, I found I had money to buy a larger HDTV for my den. It came on WEdnesday, but I needed some help moving other TVs in the house to different rooms to make way for this new one so a friend came over at 8:30 tonight and helped me shift TVs around.

Of course, then all the various cables had to be unplugged from the old and plugged into the new. That took some time since cables somehow manage to snake themselves into bizarre shapes during the years they are in one position.

And then, when everything was attached, it was time to turn it on and start calibrating. Every input - digital cable, DVD, HDTV receiver, laserdisc, VCR - has its own input and its own special needs.

I started with DVD and then went to HDTV. And then I stopped to come to the computer and will soon be going to bed. Tomorrow will be more calibration and fine tuning to get everything, especially the DVD input, looking the best it can look.

THE TONIGHT SHOW in high definition looked simply amazing.

I didn't mention what I bought though I believe I've mentioned before what I had been considering.

It's a JVC 52" D-ILA HDTV. D-ILA stands for digital image light amplification. Instead of the spinning color wheel bouncing light off one chip of most DLP models, this has three separate chips for the blue-green-red colors that light from the lamp is reflected off of.

The HDTV image looks very creamy and solid. I'm going to have to tinker more with it to get a similar smoothness to the DVDs I played with tonight. I put in THE INCREDIBLES, BATMAN & ROBIN, and GOLDENEYE just for testing - one or two scenes. I still have other things to try tomorrow with the DVDs. The HDTV is set to go - couldn't be better.

If I get some time tomorrow, I'll grab the camera and snap a picture. I think this is the size screen I can live and be happy with.

Dressy casual sounds good though I can't help but be a little dissapointed that DR JRand54 won't be in spandex with gold chains...;)

And I missed LAW & ORDER: TRIAL BY JURY tonight, so if anyone saw it, let me know if it's an episode I'll want to watch out for in reruns.

Just got back from singing the national anthem at the Indians game with my choir. Funnily enough a guy in our choir dates the sister of my cousin's boyfriend. He came to the stadium to take her car and work on it for her and my cousin came with unbeknownst to me.Well she got there after the national anthem so she didn't know I was there and I found out she was there about 5 minutes before we had to leave. She was suprised also and we had a hugfest for about the entire five minutes. It was a nice little reunion since I hadn't seen her since the beginning of January, but then I had to leave. I got yelled at for running to her by one of the security people. :P

And good fortune for Bonnie Prince Charlie as he attempts to make a go of this second marriage. I think he should be able to this time around since he's obviously marrying for love and not so his wife can produce an heir.

"Let us follow a corpuscle on its journey.  Oh, my mistake; I thought I was the corpuscle.  As you know, there is constant warfare between the red and white corpuscles.  Now then, baboons, what is a corpuscle?"

"That's easy.  Foist izza cap'n, then izza lootenant, then izza corpuscle."

"That's fine.  Why don't you bore a hole in yourself and let the sap run out?  We now find ourselves among the Alps.  The Alps are a very simple people, living on a diet of rice and old shoes.  Beyond the Alps lies more Alps, and the Lord Alps those that Alps themselves.  We then come to the bloodstream . . ."

Yes, DRTCB - Mink stole and blue jeans.  I think it makes a statement without hitting someone over the head with the message, you know.  It says, I know I am at the theatre which is a temple of culture, but it is also one of business.

Today has been Marx Bros. on TCM.  I have been laughing all day.

Nice TV DRMATTH.  Wow!

Only a few hours until the big event and I still haven’t figured out what to get Chuck and Camil for a wedding present.  I mean, his and hers horse blankets seems so clichéd.

It's always the thought that counts, DR TCB.  However, I have to ask: What gifts will you buy for their horses then?

;)

-That was a little too easy.

Good Evening!

Good show.  A slightly reserved audience, but since it was a Friday night...

DRs Ginny, JRand and Joey - The temp in the hall has still been a little on the warm side, so...  A removable layer would probably be best.

*Of course, since the temp in Memphis was kept colder than the Ed Sullivan Theatre, maybe it's actually quite comfortable in there, and I just got used to shivering.  ;)

elmore you would not say such sweet things to me if you heard me sing.  I even find it painful to listen.
Dear Jane, you and I and der Brucer absolutely MUST get together and record trios!  We could set musicology back by decades...which might not be a bad thing!

The way Mr. Mordden worded the Colette thing is completely inept.  It READS as if the Judys are playing Maurice and Willy.
That is probably due to my quoting just the one sentence.  Out of context, that sort of thing, y'know...
