Congrats on your casting, DR MattH!

I actually have similar news to share.  As of tonight, I will be in the cast of Annie Get Your Gun along with our very own TCB!  I'm not sure Tacoma is ready for a father/son act quite like ours, but by golly it's gonna be fun.  My role in the show is yet to be determined, but looks as though it'll either be ensemble or I may luck out and get the role of Charlie Davenport.  As I know more, so shall all of you.

Wonderful news DR Jed.  It's been a good news day.
Can I pre-order the DVD?

And I am officially all caught up with today's posts. As for the TOD: Cooking with my mom is hit or miss unless she has help. It was always an adventure wondering just how burnt the meal would come out. I started giving her a collection of Kit 'n' Carlyle Cartoons with Carlyle saying things like "This is where we set our food on fire." (The oven) "This is where the food tries to hide so she can't burn it." (The Fridge) and my personal favorite, "You would think that something that spent it's entire life under water wouldn't be so easy to ignite!"

If you can't tell I am in a rather silly mood tonight! :-)

Hmmm....I forgot about the TOD today. My mom's tuna noodle casserole was great!! But my favorite meal was when she would simply whip up some scambled eggs....I always considered that a treat...usually made when my parents were going out for the evening.

DR Joey - I'll check on the costumes.

Would you want a wetsuit and pair of dance flippers too?

...And speaking of dance flippers...

I'd have to say my favorite number in Mamma Mia! is "Lay All Your Love On Me" - which features the dancing flippers and the wetsuits  - Sky out of his wetsuit.

;D

But, seriously...

;)

I sat in a brush-up rehearsal once while they were rehearsing "Take A Chance On Me".  It was great watching that process.  They ran through the song subtextually - which makes the eventual presentation a bit more real - still fun and silly, but still real.

OH, I forgot...Friday night we caught the tail end of SAUCY JACK AND THE SPACE VIXENS on stage next door to the Timblerline. We had gone over to see the drag show (and get free drinks, because the bartender was a friend of James'), but we arrived while the first show was still i progress. It was  hoot! There was one actress in particular, in the show, who I simply adored! She was so cute and very good. After the show she and some of the other cast members were briefly milling around the bar and I talked with her and told her how wonderful she was. She was really sweet! She said she was just in a locally made independed film and she had plans on going to Hollywood!! Bless her little heart!

I told her that she looked just like one of those chorus gals from the 1930 Busby Berkely movies...and you know what...she actually knew what I was talking about, and she loves those movies! LOL! There is hope for this younger generation!

Here she is, Ms. Jessica Skerritt

Mr. Barnum, I would imagine your little actress was quite talented.  I believe she is Tom Skerritt's daughter -- the family lives in Seattle.  So, I am sure she will be on her way to Hollywood very soon.

I got the phone call tonight offering me the role of Georges in a local production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, so I'm going to be busy learning lines for the next few weeks. (I'd already learned all the music in preparation for the audition in case we were asked to sing something from the score. I did have to sing "Song on the Sand.")

Congratulations!!  A local theater group here in Olympia is going to be doing La Cage next month.  My season ticket is in the front row, one seat off of the center aisle.  I've never seen the show, although I do have the original Broadway and German cast recordings of the show.  I've always wanted to play Albin (ZaZa). ;)

Here she is, Ms. Jessica Skerritt

Hmm.  I wonder if she's related to Tom Skerritt.  According to imdb.com, he's living in Seattle (as of October 2004) and has a daughter.

Modification of post:  I just checked (should have done it before I posted)...but I found out that his daughter's name is Erin.  So, no relation.  Oh, well.

I'm back, I'm back, and I must now write the notes in a hurry.  They may be a few minutes late.

If Jessica Skerritt is coming to Hollywood, please be sure to give her my e-mail address :-0
