A perfectly modern operetta.......about a lady astronomer.

I think I said that last week.

DR JOHN G I love to watch those old AB dance contest videos.

The comments are usually a lot of fun, too.  A lot of the contestants write about what the experience was like for them.....

Have you ever watched videos of The Jivin' Jacks and Jills?  They are so terrific.....a young Donald O'Conner, Peggy Ryan, and MR BK's old dance instructor Roland Dupree.....

I love to watch their routines.....

The governor has finally decreed you must wear masks in public if your Texas county has more than 20 cases of Covid-19.

Someone from church copied this from Facebook:

Dear July, come in quietly, take a seat 6 feet away, cover your face and don’t make any trouble—we’ve got enough on our plate already.”

One of the songs from this album about the covid-19 crisis is about a woman who has been quarantined a little too long with her husband and here kids. It's called Someday. Lyrics from Sean Berry.

Our family is doing fine.
Thanks to Netflix
And to wine ...

I know it sounds a bit bizarre,
Pandemics being what they are,
But I'll miss this
Someday
Not today.
Someday.

As for me
I've a fantasy
Of what will be
When
Someday
After all of this has past
And we've burned up all the masks,
We'll go out And drink rose'
At our favorite cafe
And we'll miss this ...
Someday.

Listened to some fun Countess Maritza excerpts thanks to elmore.  He sent me the other stuff, too, so I'll listen to that stuff later.  Right now it's another Kalman piece, Arizona Lady.  Very enjoyable but very amusing listening to Germans try to be Arizona cowboys.  The recording is great - although it has zero information about what it is, since it's in mono (and GREAT mono) I'd suspect it was recorded around the time of the production in 1954.

What a coinkydink!  I went to Taco Bell today, too.  The drive-thru was always full, but I also actually ate in the restaurant.  A couple of people came in and got food to go, but otherwise, only one father and his young daughter came in and ate inside.  They stayed at the opposite corner from where I was.

Has anybody heard Leslie Bricusse’s musical version of Sherlock?

I have that, but I haven't listened to it in a long time.

Hugh Downs has died.  He was 99-wow.

Oh, no, but had no idea that he was 99 years old!  Or that his wife (they were married in 1944) died only three years ago!

BK, if your new musical The Mini Cans and I is going to premiere in 2014, aren’t you about six years too late?

Apparently, while I was asleep last night, I managed to pinch a nerve in my neck.

I know it sounds rather silly, but the pain, whenever I move wrong, is like someone stuck an ice pick in my neck.

It is lucky that Nick is gone, because several times when the pain is at its worst, I have actually screamed.
