From baby to little boy overnight. What a difference a haircut makes.

Did he get the sucker for being a good boy during his haircut?  He is such a good looking kid.

Our governor has requested an extension of the National Guard as the 1,000 guard members are assisting with food banks as well as contact tracing of the pandemic and operating community-based test sites.

I had no idea they were doing this.  George & Tom, did you?

I didn't!

Mom ended up with four or five birthday cakes today. Everything from chocolate, her favorite, to tiramisu. I would call that a success.

Nice!

And now, I'm leaving work and going to my sister's.  Hopefully, it won't take long. ::) We'll see.

Be back later.

A beautiful brindle cat showed up at the backdoor tonight. I gave her some cat food and she didn't run away. I wasn't close enough to pet her, but I hope she comes back for more.

Our Covid numbers have been better the last few days. The bars and gyms have been closed. I realize that the courts could overturn the governor's shutdown, but golly, it would be really nice to get this virus better controlled here.

I agree Laura, I just feel bad for the businesses who invested lots of time and money to comply with the CDC regs and they don't get a chance to prove it so they can stay open.   What was the point if you're going to get lumped in with the businesses who did nothing.

For those I missed, thanks for the birthday wishes yesterday.  I had 7 phone calls that kept me pretty busy.  One was from my best friend in high school who I haven't seen since probably 1980 or so.  We haven't talked much over the years, but she called when my dad died. She may have called when my sister died too, I don't remember that time frame very well.  Anyway, some other close friends called and  a couple family members, it was so wonderful to talk to everyone after months of being alone.  It really was a nice day

I went to my office today for an hour or two.  I enjoyed being there, but the construction on the road below my window was really loud.   I have gotten so used to working at home that I'm putting off going back as long as possible.  The federal court system never really shut down completely and his been back up and running completely since the beginning of July.   The state court system opened up this week.   Once I start having a bunch of hearings it won't make sense to work from home all the time. I'll go back then.

This is what I've been saying.  All these restaurants here in LA that spent money reconfiguring their spaces and training their staff are treated like crap, getting lumped in with the few who didn't comply.  It's like kindergarten and I just don't care for either our governor or mayor right now.

I forgot to transfer the clothes from the washer to the dryer.  I think the buzzer
went off while I was outside talking to my neighbor.

Two police officers shot in Bothell.  Six people shot at a Target store in Kent.  I can’t keep up.
