Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a thriller, and now it is time for you to post until the thrilled cows come home.

Bot before I go...this isn't too easy to read, but you'll get the idea.  Here are all the current candidates for Washington state governor:

T.O.D.

It's been so long since there's been a TV anthology, it's hard to remember.

THRILLER was good, as was FOUR STAR PLAYHOUSE, which featured Dick Powell, Ida Lupino, Charles Boyer and David Niven.

All three cats were happy to be given breakfast.  Annabelle went back for seconds before Thatch could eat her leftovers.

I purchased the complete Thriller set when it was first released.  I think the series was like the little girl with the curl: when it was good it was very very good, but when it was bad . . .  "The Cheaters" is good and creepy, and "Pigeons from Hell" still remains something I'd rather not watch alone.

I don't remember seeing many anthology films: Dead of Night with Michael Redgrave, Stephen King's Creepshow and Cat's Eye, and Amicus Film's horror anthologies are all I remember.  I have a vague memory of seeing O. Henry's Full House (?) on TV in the 1950s or 60s, but I have no memory of it now.  I also liked the TV series Tales of the Crypt.  Whoever thought the Cryptkeeper would leave Hollywood and change her name to Kellyanne Conway?

Sad news about the shooting of a New Jersey federal judge's son and husband.  The TC news this morning said she'd been assigned to the Jeffrey Epstein case, and since I do not believe he was a suicide victim, I'm wondering if a political pedophile/pervert might be behind it. Prince Andrew? Donald Trump? Speculations are endless.

When I was a kid, anthology shows had become mostly about horror in the wake of The Twilight Zone’s and Outer Limits’ success. So, there was Night Gallery, which was fun.

Perhaps my favorite TV show of all time is Wodehouse Playhouse, half-hour episodes based on different Wodehouse short stories enacted by a rep company let by Pauline Collins and John Alderton. It ran for three years.

Frank Sinatra did indeed win his Oscar in the early 1950's DR TCB....but in the movie THE OSCAR he won another one instead of the main character also named FRANK.....the suspense was palpable.....not really.....

My chest of drawers was a cheap assemble-it-yourself Amazon purchase, and I clearly assembled it badly.  The five drawers won't stay on their tracks so it's got to be replaced.  Stella has started climbing the fallen drawers to reach the top one, where she lies among the unused silverware and pesters Thatch who likes to sleep on top of the chest.  And now Thatch is curious about the drawer contents.  My life is hell.

Watch the sidewalks on trash day DR ELMORE - sometimes a nice chest of drawers ends up there......and someone might help you bring it home.....

Move out day at DePauw University always yields lots of desks and chairs and chests, etc......not all of it worth taking....

New Moon in Cancer:

As we get further into the summer months, we experience a special caring, nurturing energy when the sun and moon are both in thoughtful Cancer. Today, the emotional moon is new, indicating it’s the perfect time to begin another cycle in our lives.

Symbolized by the hard-shelled Crab, Cancers often like to keep the tender insides of themselves hidden and protected, but this lunation’s energy asks you to open up and expose some of the emotions you’ve been keeping secret. You don’t have to announce your intentions to everyone, but you can use your advanced sense of intuition to figure out what seeds you can plant right now that will grow into something meaningful in the future.

I had that THRILLER 6-episodes laserdisc, which I loved, and that was replaced by the complete DVD set. And I, too, have only watched several episodes.

When I got the set I sampled a couple of the early ones, and yes, they are disappointingly dull "mysteries". The great episodes, though, like "Pigeons From Hell", are wonderful, and I probably haven't even seen all of the good ones. I had a special fascination with the "Premature Burial" episode that follows the general story line of the Corman film but has its own eerie feel. I had never even known about that one until getting that laserdisc.

So I, too, will have to take myself on a li'l THRILLER journey ones of these days.

Well, it's been a terrible morning facing up to some stuff. The time has come to call it for our dear Poe, who will be the first of our babies to have at-home euthanasia, on the back deck following Covid-19 protocols, tomorrow afternoon. Thankfully, the mobile-vet doctor who'll be coming out sounds like a wonderful person. Poe will go to our li'l kitty graveyard in the trees behind the house.

This is a bad one for all of us, but it's particularly devastating for Kristi who adopted (actually, literally rescued) him at eight weeks of age from an obscenely cat-ridden house in a nearby town. Did I say devastating? Yesterday I privately looked through some of the pictures from 2002-2003, his first year here, and was utterly destroyed at seeing his youth and beauty then. Good God, how can eighteen years go by so fast?

So, that's where I am today and tomorrow.

I am very relieved, though, to have this done and ready.

And if you should by some chance be under the misguided impression that cocktail hour hasn't arrived here several hours early, you would be quite mistaken.
