I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep - woke up right at noon, but immediately had to attend to a lot o' stuff right away that kept me very busy.  Then I went and picked up stuff, came back, and got ready to do more stuff, which I'll do shortly.  Also, got a another little something to do with the mystery project, so that was fun.  But mostly it's been Kritzerland show stuff, one thing after another.  Haven't even had time to contemplate food let alone my navel.

That German-South Korean connection is proving indomitable once again. Apparently, kimchi and sauerkraut prevent the virus. I eat plenty of cabbage, but mostly raw in slaws. But I guess I have to dig a hole in the backyard, bury some and let it ferment first.

This morning and early afternoon were tough, but it all went as well as these things ever can. There’s no question that at-home things like this are the way to go. Thank you all for the thoughts, and yes, I will post pictures. I’ll probably make up a little album on Flickr because I found I still have an old account kicking around there.

My favorite Tom Lehrer:

First you get down on your knees,
Fiddle with your rosaries,
Bow your head in great respect, and
INCULCATE, INCULCATE, INCULCATE.

Okay, that’s not going to win any prizes, but it’s what you get today.

Today, once again, I’ve been stuck in the feeling that it’s a Saturday.

And I feel as if this week is going to go on forever. Was today Monday II, the sequel?

Pasta papa was great and I'm very full.  I've put aside the Toscanini set because the sound is just so either bad of variable I can't enjoy the many fine performances.  I'll get back to it.  Instead I've begun the Bruno Walter set - this guy was a conductor and since he was with Columbia his early recordings sound GREAT.  It's funny, but growing up and practically living in record stores, the conductors I was most aware of were all on Columbia so I knew those names by heart because you could not escape their albums - Bruno Walter, Eugene Ormandy, Bernstein...  RCA had a few like Reiner and Leinsdorf, but for whatever the reasons, the Toscanini recordings sound awful.

I'll find out when I visit her. I want to see if she has started A Gentleman in Moscow.

BTW, I did hear from a friend today who just finished Major Pettigrew. She loved it, was very glad she read it from a physical copy and not in audio form.

I am glad your friend loved the book.  Even if I could hear better I would rather read this one.

It's still too hot out there. I wanted to walk for an hour. I barely made 45 minutes and I finished my bottle of water long before I got home.

I was able to do the virtual barre class yesterday and didn't realize until I started to walk that my legs were in a bit of pain from yesterday's class.

George, did you watch that production of City of Angels on YouTube? I'm enjoying the singing and the staging. I only watch it a little at a time. There's a tiny bit more loose choreography than I remember the original production had, but it's fairly faithful. I have a soft spot for this show.

Thinking of you, Chas, and sending comforting thoughts.
It never gets easier, I know from experience.
Poe had a long and loving life with you...glad that he chose you as family.
Sending hugs...and hoping that soon the time will come when thoughts of Poe bring a smile to your face.
