Good luck with the Kritzerland test tonight!  I'm going to my parents' at about 5:00, so I won't be able to see it live. :-\

I woke at 5:00 to a loud crash somewhere in the apartment.  I turned on the lights and looked about and found nothing.  I suspect it's a pile of books in the back that Annabelle dislodged ion her leaping to her bookcase bed.  A bit later something woke me.  I didn't know what it was at first, and then I became aware that all power in my apartment was off.  I checked my cell phone clock: 5:31.

I got a flashlight and went to the window.  The power on the street was off as well.  I went to the door and checked the hell: no lights.  I put the flashlight back and returned to bed.  Sometime between then and 6:15 when the alarm rang the power returned.  I learned on the morning's news that both Upper East and Upper West Sides had blackouts.  Part opf the City is still out.

Beyond that, I slept well last night.  I remember bits of one dream but not enough to decipher it.

Last night, the Fat Orange Slug squatting in the Oval Office accused Biden in a string of lies only fools believe of being against God.  I find that overwhelmingly funny coming from a con artist-wannabe Hitler whose only god is himself and whose idiocy is responsible for so many Covid-19 deaths.  He's no more than a shameless, opportunity seeking whore.

Today my calendar is once again empty, so I have no plans.  I'll work on my latest round of A&T book revisions and lounge with the babies.

I would think with these storms and power failures happening so often that the powers that be would have better control over setting things back at a much quicker rate.

Kitty cleanup is over.  I think that crash I heard earlier came from the recyclable cans bag.  Two empty cans of cat food were on the kitchen floor this morning, but I have no idea what tossed them out of the recyclable bag.  Only Thatch and Stella might know and they're not telling.

It seems my mom and I were extraordinarily lucky this storm, we both have power whereas huge swaths of the town still have no power after Tuesdays storm

This morning, when our power went off, I was thinking about you, DR vixmom!  The CBS News just announced that our power went off around 5:15 and that all parts of Manhattan are up and running.

No new news from this corner. Half of the 800,000 people with power outages have had their power restored, but that’s taken 2 1/2 days. Not so yet in our neighborhood.

That’s pretty bizarre, those outages in NYC. What was up with that?

At least I’m able to get online at home on my phone. Verizon put up a temporary cell tower in the middle of town which may be what’s helping. It’s only the phones, though, so not much posting is getting done. But it sure is good to be somewhat up to date on things.

I know.  What a fantastic rating.  Everything they reported about her behavior was pretty much true, and I think it was that exuberant friendly behavior that grabbed me as soon as I petted her in her adoption cage.

The comment about handling was interesting because I have never found her adverse to being held, and she;s become quite a lap cat.

Maybe you should think about another one now?  There are a lot of animals needing rescue.

I have a new neighbor.  From the sounds of activity above me, I knew someone was moving in, so I went up to meet my new neighbor.  Hs name is Shane and he is a law student at Fordham.  I hope we get along.

The Lady Eve......I first saw it when Miss Frances Farmer presented it on her afternoon show.  I was about 12 and thought it was very sophisticated.

The Ale that won for Yale.....I went around saying that for a few weeks.

And weeks later I laughed again when I was watching a Mexican Spitfire movie on another channel.

Leon Errol asked for some ginger ale.
The waiter asked: "Pale?"
And he replied: "No, just a glass."   :D

There are some cute puppies at Four Legged Ranch!

I didn't ask about his personal life.  I asked about being a student because he seemed young.  I think, though, that if he had a wife, girlfriend, boyfriend who would be living with him, that person would be there.
