OOOH!. I've lost a post. I mentioned something about "Walking Happy" and "The Good Companions" but who really cares? LOL

DR Tomovoz - I care about Walking Happy!  It played the Fisher Theatre in Detroit prior to Broadway when I was in high school.  Our drama club could get tickets for $2.25 to all the shows.  I remember loving Walking Happy and being so disappointed when it wasn't better received in NYC.

Thank you DR Ginny.. I always thought the show would have done better without Norman Wisdom. I am fond of the Film "Hobson's Choice". (I've not seen the play upon which it was based).

I'm just taking a break from my History homework. We're reading a very long book about the plague. Very cheerful and uplifting.

I heard there was an earthquake in CA!  Is everyone ok?

Dear TCB, please go and seek medical help for your neck.  Don't be like my Mom who is sitting here in pain but won't let me take her to the doctor.  I know people don't like doctors but it makes it hard on the people who care for them to sit and not be able to do anything for them.

DR François, I'm glad to see you posting as well.  I was right, wasn't I?  You work at Disney?

It looks like a 5 on the Richter was centered south of Bakersfield.  I don't think any of our crew is centered anywhere near Bakersfield.  (People I used to know that were from Bakersfield were never that centered, anyhow.   ::))

Quake mapping here.

CP and elmore thanks.  Now I’m really looking forward to the JEEVES series.  Bryan gave me one of the books to read and my brother raved about the series after I had him watch HOUSE.   If I’m lucky we will have the DVD waiting for us when we return from Portland.

Oh.  Somehow I thought he worked at EuroDisney.

While I was out and about today, I saw some software that lets you record radio programs off of the internet.

I also found an old video game that I used to love called, Crystal Castles.  Now to find time to play it.

There was a Star Wars DVD with the two made for TV Ewok movies so I picked that up as well.  I have never been able to find the Star Wars Christmas special but I'm sure it will come out someday.

The next musical on our calendar is the touring The Producers, which opens at the Schuster Center in Dayton this Wednesday.  We're taking my mom to the matinee on May 1 as her Christmas present.  I read in yesterday's Dayton Daily News the following casting:

Bialystock - Bob Amaral
Bloom - Andy Taylor

Any connections here?

I used to, Danise, used to!
I "gave" six full years of my life to The Big Cheese, from 1984 through  1990! Lived in Kissimmee! You know.... the place they sing about!!
Kissimmee once, And Kissimmee twice
And Kissimmee once again!
It's been a long, long time! ;)

Now, I work here:

http://www.hoteldanube.fr/

... and boy, is Mickey really sad I don't work for him anymore!
I tell you that!

But, hey!... there's LIFE after Walt Disney World!!
(That's what Roy Disney Jr also says these days about The Walt Disney Company!
  :D)

Thanks for caring, Danise! :-*

Don't be so sure of the Holiday Special, Danise.  George Lucas reportedly tried to buy...and destroy...every copy of the show, but the bootlegging got out of hand.

Jane, we gave Mom her ticket and a cassette of the show for Christmas.  Of course, I also had to buy tickets for myself and DH Richard!  My sister's family sent Mom money for Christmas to take the 3 of us out to dinner after the show.

I do have an idea for Mother's Day, too!

Oooohhhh.... I can tell that some DR Kimlet friends have done good PR for me!

Thank you, lady and gent!
You had it all korrect!

I was once a... cast member, oh yes! You know, one of those people who smile all the time and are quite helpful and friendly with the guests and give the Disney Parks such a good reputation?!
Well, at least in the US, because here, with our French causticity, (Disney) cast members are looked upon as phony dumb dorks!
It has to be... cultural, I guess!

PHONY DUMB DORK... is the title of the account of "my life as a cast member at WDW" to be released in the fall!!!

Hugh Laurie is such a wonderful actor. I stumbled across Kenneth Branagh's PETER'S FRIENDS the other day. I saw it years ago but not any since then, and I didn't even remember he (Hugh) was in it. Anyway, he's talking in his regular British accented voice, and it is simply WORLDS away from the convincing American accent he uses in HOUSE.

I generally like ENTERPRISE, but last night's show has to set some kind of record for bone-headed writing. They have these three alien women who are able to rouse the men's chemical natures and make them do their bidding. Once the Enterprise officers  realize how powerful the women are, they lock them in the brig WITH A MALE GUARD ON DUTY, and later they are surprised when the aliens get out and try to take over the ship!

Good Evening!

Back from Steve's.  The kitchen is almost set up.  There are a few boxes of stuff that still need to be put away - but there's no more room to put them away in.  *He needs to do some purging too.  ;)

I'll head back tomorrow, and help get his office are set up.  And then take back the first batch of now-empty boxes packing material.

I stopped for some Chinese food on the way back - just wanted some Hot & Sour soup.  And now I'm watching SNL - Tom what's-his-name from the Patriots is the host. So far, so not-so-bad.

;)

While walking through Carytown today, I noticed two young ladies and a young gentleman walking around.  Our paths ended up crossing at some shop, where I overheard this...

Young Woman: So have you been to Carytown before?
Young Man: No, this is my first time.
Young Woman2: Do you like it so far?
Young Man: It's aight.  Kind of dinky.
Young Woman: Well, it's a great place to hang out and shop.
Young Man:  Yeah, I guess so.  I guess it's sort of like a small version of Georgetown.
Young Woman2: You mean like Georgetown University?
Young Man: Well, sort of.  It's this part of DC right near Georgetown University, but it's only for the students.
Young Woman:  Oh, that's cool.

And that's when I made a beeline for the door so that I could start laughing out of their sight.

Hmm...

Tom Brady seems to be quite the natural ham.  A little awkward at times, but he's goofy.  And cute.  And he's been showing some skin too!  Nice arms.
