I went to a Reefer Madness party tonight. The movie was a hoot and Christian Campbell was in his all together (almost) and the party goers loved it. Sis Neve was also in it and dances wonderfully. All those years of Ballet training paid off. She has a wonderful extention. Allan Cummings was teriffic and the guy from the film of Jeffrey and TV series Wings Bruce Webber?? was quite good as a song and dance man.

I'm back from a date with DRRodzinski. We went to see the York's Musicals in Mufti presentation of DARLING OF THE DAY. My friend Rebecca Luker as Alice Chalice was in peak form; funny, moving, wonderfully perfect in one of the best roles I've seen her do. My friend Simon Jones was the artist Priam Farll, my friend Stephen Mo Hannan was the artist's agent, and my friend Andrew Gerle was the musical director. Seeing the four of them after the show was one of the highlights of my week, not to mention the good time I always have with Rodzinski. We got to the lobby at the York and Rebecca's husband Danny was waiting for her. I hadn't seen him in over a year so it was too much bliss.

DRRodzinski and I went to the French Roast for a bite after the show and ran into the young actor who played Alf in the production! As Lotte Lenya says in CABARET, my head is shpinning. Good night, all!

It's only just past 10:30 and I'm going to bed! Tomorrow, April 17, will be my niece Hilary's 21st birthday!! We (my sister, her boyfriend Larry, my niece and I) are all going on the Spirit of Washington Dinner Train for the lunch ride!! Since were taking the lunch trip, we have to leave Olympia by 9:00 a.m. or so to get there before it leaves at 11:00. I would really like to get some sleep (since Sunday is usually my only day of the week to be able to sleep), so I'm off to Wussburgerland now. Nighty-night!

DR MBarnum - While walking around Carytown today, I noticed that the Byrd will be showing another Bollywood movie tomorrow - Mughal-E-Azam. It's apparently a classic, and it's being re-released in a new colorized version. Looks interesting. And the website is fun too - nice use of Flash Player.

Just finished watching 2 (two) early 1930s John Wayne B-westerns with my mom...she loves those movies as she used to go to them at the theater in her youth so many, many years ago! LOL!

Now I am caught up with todays posts and my mom is breathing down my neck because she wants to use my computer.

She heads home tomorrow, and then I can have my computer and DVD player back

Oh, my gosh, that would be a fun one to see! I bought the special edition DVD of that film, but have not watched it yet...I do believe it has DR JRand54's favorite Bollywood actress in it...Meena Kumari! And yes it is supposed to be one of the most classic of vintage Bollywood movies!

François, you are in rare form tonight! Many laughs. Antonia (aka the Gal) is a "cast member" which is a term that just invites ridicule! Once, we were at Epcot and talking to some kid working in "Canada" and he was telling us rather candidly how he had to "audition" for his job. That's right, he beat out a lot of folks for the role of "guy serving funnel cake" for a summer.

Whirlwind evening with Elmore, who seems to know everybody. Almost got to ride in a cab with Rebecca Luker, but her husband showed up and gave her a ride. Boo. Still, she was quite nice, and she was excellent in this show that I had never heard of until Friday, "Darling of the Day". What a gem. Light-hearted and fun. Clever but not TOO clever songs. Great cast for a staged reading. According to the program, Larry Moore will be handling the 5-piece orchestrations for the show as it is re-cast and fully staged in Evanston, Ill. Any of you midwesterners who can make it to that ought to go!
