This is not a day when I wanted to get out of bed. After I fed the cats I debated returning there, then discovered another leak from the AC, I think the problem is that the air conditioner's carriage gets off balance from the cats jumping on and off the unit on their way to the windowsill, and its position slopes into the room so the condensation runs inside rather than outside.

I have some more revisions to make in what I wrote yesterday in my current A&T edit, so my plan is to work on that this morning. I promised a friend I would try to watch his movie on Amazon Prime today, so I'll make a try.

Kitty cleanup is over. As soon as I make the bed, I'm going to see if I can find a small piece of wood in the basement to lift the AC unit a bit, so the water runs out of the apartment.

Today for the first time in my ENTIRE WHOLE life - the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race will be available for me to watch LIVE.

It has always been blacked out in my area since it began to be broadcast.....but not TODAY.

Joshie was a foster failure. I had to pay for him just to clear him off the books. They let me have him for the cost of the rabies shot. Best $11 I ever spent -- and I paid for him on my birthday! Best birthday present EVAR!

Interesting notes about Falling Down. I somehow didn’t even know about that film, only discovering it years after the fact while browsing in a video store. Remember video stores? It immediately looked intriguing so I bought it and watched it, and enjoyed it in all of its strangeness and unsettledness.

I agree with BK’s observation re the lack of today’s technology in the film. I’d say it captures an oddly near-perfect time relative to all of that.

And yes, I remember that huge geographic leap, because I was very taken with the location shooting overall. It’s just too bad about that jump in believability. Nevertheless, now I must watch it again.

Thanks for reminder — I will get the Sandy Bainum downloads when I’m on the computer later. And I will take care to do a proper A/B comparison, by connecting my external CD drive so that I’m listening to both sources through the same system, over the same monitors.
