Well, you've read the notes, the notes had the music of the night, and now it is time for you to post until the night cows come home.

Today, I have no plans except to do some laundry.  I do have the last season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to watch.  I should probably start to watch those and delete them from my DVR.

I think this current problem is not a part of the arthritic joint replacement issues after all; I think it's a part of the tsuris created by the two crushed lower discs in my spine.  I think my trip up the Big Ladder on Thursday was the catalyst.  The same thing happened a couple of years ago.

DR TCB, yes, in both Liliom and its musicalization Carousel Billy dies by suicide. The only real difference between the two is that the final scene of Liliom has no "happy" ending for Liliom, Marie, or their daughter; he's dragged off to Purgatory, as I recall.

Stella left me another mess to clean up this morning, so I must deal with that.  After I make the bed and take the recyclables to the basement, I plan to lie down and stay there until it's time to feed the cats.

I am happy to be up and out of two weird dreams, one having to do with finding myself in a restaurant for the first time since March. It seemed to be in TriBeCa, where a few restaurant-y dreams over the years have been set for no apparent reason. The second was another of my abstract concoctions involving links to a few recordings of music and some other stuff, I think films or TV shows, but the main piece of music was the Mahler Sixth. In the first dream I was having a reunion with a few friends, including a gal I haven’t seen in nearly twenty years who had in real life been a medical examiner but in the dream was now working in this restaurant. In the second, the “links” to these musical/movie things were being provided by one of NYC’s still-current (I think) medical examiners who used to be the boyfriend of the gal in the first dream. In real life I had bought (for a pittance) his collection of laserdiscs back in the early 2000s.

So, Labor Day. I’m going to labor by mowing a few weeds this morning, then just enjoy the rest of the day. We’ll be grilling our hamburgers later this afternoon.

Have I mentioned for the benefit of our Southern California denizens that our weather is perfect, with clear days and temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s?  :)

(Don’t get up, I’ll show myself out.)

I'm moving so slowly.  Kitty cleanup, getting the recyclables to the basement with a walker, and cleaning up Stella's mess took me an hour.  I've had my breakfast and my meds, but I still haven't made up the bed, so that's next.

I don't know much from steaks......Ponderosa and Bonanza were treats for us as I was growing up and beyond.....

Usually I would have a T-bone......now and then there was the grilled steak.....but I don't remember that I liked one over another...or any one that was outstanding.....

I guess I'm depraved on accounta I'm deprived.....steak wise.

Did anyone (DR John G.?) watch "The Gershwins'" Porgy and Bess over the weekend? I'm afraid I only got through the first half, and that was in three sittings. Shame on me. I was trying to get in too many other things on Saturday and Sunday, including some lazy TV watching.

As usual, I was put off by some of the cuts. For instance, they completely cut Archdale and the "Buzzard Song".

Porgy's promotion from goat cart to a leg brace and crutch sort of worked okay, but... but... but...
