It lessened a little by 8:50 so I was able to get to my car , with the help of my trusty reverse Brooklyn, without getting soaked

Considering our air quality is 168 it didn't seem to bad during our morning walk.  It kept the crowds away which was nice though I would prefer the crowds to fires.

KITTY LOVERS SKIP THIS POST.

I was driving to the WalMart today to get some lettuce and Italian Dressing.....and driving up my sister's street, I saw a beautiful tabby cat that had had an encounter with a car.

I would say it happened last night in the dark.  The kitty was dark with very dark/light stripes.

It's poor little head was facing the wrong way for its body.

So sad.

Keith went to the market and I am slowly sipping water.  It is very important to be hydrated before having blood drawn and I have never had this much drawn before so don't really know what to expect.

Only 6 viles of blood taken.  Still it was good I drank all the water as I think I was slightly dehydrated to begin with.  I didn't get nauseated drinking the water which must mean I am improving.

Hello, everyone.

I slept well last night and am feeling more comfortable this morning. That said, I couldn't keep my eyes open by 9 am and feel like I've been hit by a truck. I put a few days aside for just recovery. If I don't need it, great. There's always plenty to keep me busy.

Hi DR Jeanne.  It is good to see you here and read your update.  I do hate those trucks that find us and hope you feel much better by tomorrow.

Rest well.

Yesterday I tried out a new (to me) medical transportation service. I used to take Lyft, but have had several bad experiences with them. My insurance pays for it, but I must schedule though an intermediary, which may have been the problem. In any case, I tried something called Love Transit, which contracts with a taxi company. The drivers were on time, but they were so impatient! Once they arrive, it takes a couple minutes to lock up, then go down the stairs and out to the curb. They expect me to do this instantly. When I scheduled the ride for pick-up I told the scheduler than I'd just had surgery and would be a bit slow. The driver had this in his instructions. Yet he called me and asked if I was coming. Yes, I was waiting for the elevator. Honestly! I'd like to find a car company or driver who understands what it's like to have medical issues. Both Lyft and Uber have time limits on how long they should wait. I don't recall what they are--Lyft gives more time--but they seemed unrealistic to me. And that's without medical issues.

What a shame.  Is there a tracking app you can get on your phone so you know when to go down to meet the car, before they arrive?

Thank you, Jane.

I'm glad you're drinking plenty of water. You need to thin your blood to make up for what was taken. Many people are under-hydrated.

Right, and I suspected I was not drinking enough water the last couple of days.  The blood draws more easily if you are hydrated.

Back from the mail place.  The air outside is unbelievable - smoky, unbreathable, and brown, thanks to all the fires, the largest of which, I think, was started because of a gender reveal party, yet another idiotic and inane "thing" that people do.

No, and it's really difficult to know when they'll arrive, as the estimates are way off. Once (with Lyft) I had to call three times and it took an hour. I was not supposed to be on my feet and there is nowhere to sit down once you're outside. Most architects make no provision for such things. Most of the offices in this building are medical offices and many patients arrange for rides. Ideally, there'd be a driveway where drivers could pull off the busy street and actually help patients into the cars. As it is, it's difficult to locate your ride, especially since Lyft often tells you to expect a red Ford and then your driver arrives in a gold something-else. I happened to mention to a nurse yesterday that they need benches outside (there's plenty of room) and she said others have said the same. She may mention it to the management.
