I had previously gotten hooked on the olive & pimiento spread at this one bagel jernt last year. It was the perfect thing to complement an already delicious everything bagel, and it immediately became my favorite thing there. I like other spreads as well, but this is mouth-fillingly rich. I mean, if you like olives. And boy, do I like olives. Their oil ain't bad, either.

I like olives but not pimientos.

I successfully made it to and from the post box.  This was a trial run for Wednesday's trek on Wednesday to 22nd Street and my podiatrist.  While there, I will get my flu shot.

When we lived in Connecticut there weren't many places to get decent bagels.  I either got them from Long Island on the rare occasions I went with a friend, or I drove to Lender's.

To me Lender's made terrible frozen bagels.  It was a very pleasant surprise to walk into their delicatessen and buy tasty fresh bagels.

My two places here are a local chain called Bagelman, and (surprisingly) Stew Leonard's where they make the bagels right there in our store. There used to be a another mom & pop place that made an even more NYC-like bagel that was to die for, but they've been gone for years now. There might be other decent ones, but it's not something I think to go out and explore.

Now I want a bagel.

At times when I was growing up sometimes pimento American cheese made it into the house.....probably picked up by mistake....but I enjoyed it very much.

I don't think I have seen it in the grocery stores I frequent for many......years and/or decades.

We only lived in Connecticut for one year.  I don't think I ever went to a Stew Leonard's.

Druxy, I think, gets his news from a place no one should.  Or he misunderstood.  There were demonstrators AT the hospital and they were, according to reports, blocking entrances but the two injured officers were inside - no ambulance was blocked getting them to the hospital.  I'm interested to see who these "demonstrators" were - two were arrested - because they were chanting, "We hope you die."  Well, that's more than a little disgusting.  But I want to know where they came from - nothing was going on when these officers were shot - they were sitting in their car.  So, who are these people who are suddenly showing up and chanting?

I'm up, I'm up - just about eight hours of sleep, no thanks to the noisy idiot neighbors, I might add.

Thanks.  This is more detail than I had seen about the demonstrators at the hospital.

Speaking of bagels I had a bagel and lox today. I've never tried a frozen bagel. Or a grocery store bagel. Luckily I live in the bagel capitol of the world.

Your bagels are different than ours.  I liked them but not as much.  I expect you prefer them.  Bryan thinks they are delicious.  I don't think you have my favorite egg bagels.  Do you have rye bagels?  I don't remember.

Mom loves The Sound of Music. Alexa's version is the soundtrack of the Carrie Underwood TV version. It's better to listen to than watch, IMO.

Anyway, "No Way to Stop It" has some pedestrian lyrics, to be sure. But listening to it today, I was taken with the music. A Rodgers polka, like "Shall We Dance." Can anybody site any other polkas of his? .
