T.O.D.

I love KEY LARGO.

Back when I was writing a monthly column for CORONET Magazine, I interviewed Claire Trevor at her Newport Beach home, and she talked a lot about KEY LARGO.

If you want to read the interview:

T.O.D. (2)

Along with Humphrey Bogart, Edward G. Robinson was/is one of my favorite actors, and KEY LARGO is my favorite Robinson picture.

I had the pleasure of meeting him at a party during the late 1960s at Edd Byrnes' house.

Unfortunately, I never met Lauren Bacall, but I did see her in WOMAN OF THE YEAR when it played Los Angeles.

I'm off to the church this morning. A summer of shaping the shrubs into spheres during the brutal heat, and then turning off the water to the landscape has resulted in dozens of dead shrubs. So I've begun the task of removing dead plants before the city cites us for having dead plants.

Well, this is good.  I checked my bank accounts online and I do not need to make the trip.  I'm thinking about laundry at the moment.

Good miracle vibes from MR BK.

I, too, enjoyed reading about the invention of elbow macaroni.  I love studying history on the inner web.

I also remember a pasta commercial years ago that had a gaggle of Italian ladies pulling spaghetti off of bushes like they were harvesting grapes.....which gave me pause.

I am glad that so many of you have watched interview including MR BK.

And I am happy that it is being bookmarked for others for when they can watch it later.

Thank you.

I watched your interview last night, DR Jrand70, and it was most enjoyable. Congratulations on the series, and on its fitting conclusion.

And how great it would be to see the entire “man in the chair” thing...if you catch my drift...and I’m sure that you do...

BTW, that shirt was fine. I never would have thought anything about it.

When you first mentioned it, I’m afraid I expected something tight fitting, with wide, bold, horizontal stripes. Because about 25 years ago I had one that was exactly that, that I actually wore out of the house a few times, and it gives me nightmares to this day.

It’s Confession Time, boys and girls!

I have never seen KEY LARGO. Not even once. Clips from it, yes, but I have no idea what it’s even about. I do have the DVD, which I know should be upgraded to the Blu-ray. I have no doubt whatever that I’ll love it.

I also need to upgrade my copy of THE BIG SLEEP.

Nor I. I have the most fundamental gaps in cultural heritage.

I'm puzzled.  I do not ever recall being around Miss Bacall.

Good Morning.  Today I get to go get a COVID test.  The first of many as we'll need to get one each month when kids are back on campus.  Hoo and ray for sure.

It's an unpleasant process, but mercifully brief.
