For Banned Books Week, I'm reading a YA novel called Speak, which gets challenged because it's about a girl who gets raped at a party. Think about that. We would rather cover these incidents up than deal with the fact that sexual assault happens to 20% of women.

That was an excellent book.  I think parent's wanting it banned should read it.

The first question a librarian asks when someone challenges a book is, "Have you read it?  All the way through?"  The answer is usually NO.

I had planned to watch something good tonight, and was all rarin’ to go — when, in browsing through the movie shelves, I ended up cleaning up and reorganizing some things and never got to the watching part. And that turned out to be just as satisfying.

Those are only the reported cases. My talks with other women suggests the number is much higher.

Our apartment building has a shelf in the shared garage where you can discard stuff that others may want.  I was leaving some stuff there the other night and found an unopened bottle of "diet" apple juice. I brought it up, wiped it down, and stuck it in the refrigerator.  Well, I just tried a glass. What vile stuff!

I like the idea of an up-for-grabs area. There is so much waste!

Good Morning - the boys and I stayed in bed as long as we could.  First day in a while where we didn't have to set an alarm.

Thanks for the moving vibes.  My lease is up at the end of November (!) - and I can't break it early without mega penalties.  It'll be here before I know it.

Also, the little girl next door as required a recorder - and no direction.  Yeah.... I'm so outa here ASAP!

Have you found a place to move to or are you still looking?

Funny you should ask!   I think I may have found a place today.  In my price range, good area, nice sized apartment, etc.... application will go in Monday.

Well done! Vibes you're approved.

Do most apartments in your area take dogs?

Hello, Sasha! You are lovely!

I once had a dog I named Pasha. She was a mixed black Lab and a very nice dog.

I agree wholeheartedly with BK about the lethargy. Ugh! It's starting to cool down here, but much more slowly than forecast. Our air quality is still unhealthy, too. And how can one not react emotionally to all the news events this past week?
