And the word of the day is: EGRESS!

When PT Barnum opened his museum. He had a lot of signs that said This Way to Thumb, This Way To Joice Heath etc. He had one that said This Way to The Egress.  People would go through a door and find themselves outside. If people wanted to go back in they were forced to pay another admission.

This is funny.  We have an exit door near our side of the building we use all the time.  It says "egress only".  I have had to tell a few people that means it is ok for them to exit through the door.

Well, this is interesting.  I'm listening to the German cast recording of Tschitti Tschitti Bäng Bäng, and it's different than the London cast recording.  This doesn't have the child catcher's song, "Kiddy-Widdy-Winkies," but they added back "Du wundervoller Mann," which is a version of "Lovely Lonely Man."  But in the German production, this song is in the second act.

I truly don't know if I ever saw No Way to Treat a Lady. But I'm definitely going to. A whole lotta 1968 New York? Are you kidding? You could say the movie sucks and I'd still watch it for that.

Too bad about that Blu-ray. But I don't want to pay to import that thing anyway. For now I'll make do with a DVD or maybe even just watch it on Amazon Prime for three bucks.

Oh wow it was cold out today. I was visiting outside with my nieces (we are not allowed to visit inside). They got cold so they went in and we talked thru the glass beside their front door. It was actually not bad. Our faces were so close and my older niece mentioned that we had not been that close since March.

Good Afternoon - Well, it was bound to happen, but a student tested positive for COVID.  So, all the kids in that cohort - plus 4 adults that have had exposure to the student - are quarantined for 2 weeks.  Luckily, distance learning can still happen.  However, that puts me in a classroom to oversee a 6th grade cohort in the afternoon and keeps me at school until 3:30pm or so.  I usually leave around 2:00pm.  Anyway, "All Hands of Deck" is our motto this year, and it's proven to be an important one.  I can go wherever I'm pushed to go, and do so without a word said about it.  We all must help out.

Vibes for DR MATTHEW.

The first thing I thought of when reading the WOTD was the story that DR MICHAEL wrote about.....it always makes me laugh.....

BK I listen to a lot of old time radio. I hear the term transcription quite often. What is a transcription record as opposed to a regular one?

A transcription disc was a disc made as the broadcast was happening live, as a record of the show and for outlets that couldn't carry it live - same as kinescopes of live broadcasts from the Golden Age of TV.

No.  I don't even know who it was as they don't tell us. (we'll figure it out eventually amongst ourselves - it is a small school) - anyway - that grade was not a grade that I taught in person - thankfully!

It was a Goodreads nominated book.  I am thankful for that or I would have missed reading it.  I am disappointed though that it did not make it to the final round of voting.

IMHO it is much better than the Trebek book that did make it to the final round.

Well, the board meeting is over, so I need to get out of here so that I won't have to lock the building!  I'm going to see what shopping at Costco is like. ;)

Be back later.
