I am hoping that those who needed to find Thanksgiving fixin's have had success.

We haven't needed anything special.  I just hope what I would normally need will be at the market next time we go.

I'm looking forward to staying in, keeping warm --it's been cold here -- and just relaxing.

I saw my osteopath today (also my PCP). I like him, but I dread going there because things just aren't well run. And now we have Covid to contend with. Last month, when I booked the appointment, the website said i wasn't eligible to see him. Why? Because of symptoms I've had for 1.5 years. I understand screening for Covid, but this is ridiculous. I had to lie to make an appointment.

I lie all the time when I fill in the forms.  I figure "NO" is the appropriate box to check for covid symptoms I normally have.

The boss bought us lunch today

That was nice of him.  How is the co-worker that has covid?

I can't find a single place around here to get a Thanksgiving dinner or even some damn turkey slices and stuffing.  But everyone here waits until the last possible second and who are they exactly sharing these mountains of food with - I could have sworn there are mandates in place that preclude large gatherings.

Neighbors told us they had to buy a large turkey as all the small ones sold out early.  I am surprised you can't find a restaurant offering a take out Thanksgiving meal.

Very nice.

I am making some things, and supplementing with purchased items. The purchased items were delivered this afternoon at 3:00PM.

We’ve ordered an entire Thanksgiving dinner from Hamilton’s High Street Cafe, one of our fav places to go for lunch.  Of course, we have been in able to do that all year, so we’re glad to support them.  Even though it’s just the 2 of us, we’ll have enough for 10-12 people (we like leftovers).  I joked yesterday that a sheriff’s deputy would probably follow us home to bust us for having a big gathering in our home!

I guess some supermarkets will still be open tomorrow, at least in the morning, for people who need last-minute stuff.

Everything is so fraught, with the election, and with COVID, and now it's messing with people's cherished traditions. I get it. But for me, being cautious about my health supersedes all else.

We’ve had the quietest, least busy Thanksgiving Eve of our entire married life.  The high point was a delightful video chat with Charlotte, during which we got to see her do “pushups” and roll from her back to her tummy.

Yesterday I did a lengthy e-check-in, where I verified everything. Then today we went through the same drill before I could enter the building. I did see my doctor, who said that everyone, including him, is frustrated with the situation. I imagine most seniors, if not others, would have at least one of the symptoms that makes you ineligible for an in-person visit. This is crazy. I don't like to lie, but I needed to see my doctor and even did the 10-day quarantine just in case.

Sometimes you gotta do what'cha gotta do. :-\

I am also going to try making the stuffing on the side

My sister is making her regular stuffing/dressing.  She calls it her "Scarborough Fair" stuffing because it has parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. :)

How fun.  Freyja never did that while we were chatting.

DR John G., I decided to go with the fresh instead of the frozen.  I will try the frozen recipe another time, though.
