I am very pleased with how quickly my doctor, or her assistant, respond to my messages.

BK, I told you you would like Braunfels' The Birds.  He was my beloved Trude Rittman's teacher at the Cologne Conservatory.

Beginning to listen to Lolita, My Love. Compared with the disc I had, the improved sound is almost miraculous.

Not yet arrived in Tumwater. :(

Picked up packages and then three beef tacos from Casa Vega - came home and ate them and they were as great as always.

Listening to Der Rosenkavalier, a VERY tuneful opera filled with glorious tunes by Richard Strauss and those waltz tunes especially, which, of course, were paid homage by Jerry Goldsmith in The Boys from Brazil.  This recording, Herbert von Karajan conducting and recorded in 1956 and, I believe, only released in mono for many years, is an astonishing early stereo recording and sounds amazing.  The singers are fantastic, too.  I also have the slightly shorter (with cuts) Leonard Bernstein version - can't imagine a better recording than the von Karajan, however, and I'm glad I waited to make it my first.  But boy is it long - over three hours.

As soon as it's done, about twenty minutes to go, I'll get to work on project two for an hour or two.

I am going to order from their menu and eat vicariously, which is basically how I have been eating all day.

The Festival of Lights!  I'm always reluctant to spell it, as there are so many variants.
