I think we're going to out and look at some Christmas lights in the neighborhood. I saw what looked to be some big displays during the day.

Last time I did that was years ago while visiting my friends in Pennsylvania.

Happy Birthday, DR Ginny!   Follow me for more recipes.

Perfect, DR Singdaw!  The meager celebration we had planned for today had to be cancelled because Richard is not feeling well.  So that picture is the closest I’m going to get to having a birthday cake.

I am sorry.  I couldn't have cake either except I was the sick one, not Keith ;D

Feel better vibes for Richard.

I don’t know what I was dreaming but I woke Up this morning because someone was shouting about the advantages of the health care system in Canada vs the US system.

LOL.  When are you moving to Canada?

I got a lovely Thanksgiving email from dormer DR Ben's spouse Anthony.  He included a photo of their Christmas decor, which made me want to grab my walker, schlep down to their apartment, and walk several flights just to visit.

Very nice!

All kinds of streaming versions of A Christmas Carol across the country.

https://www.playbill.com/article/your-guide-to-streaming-a-christmas-carol-in-2020

I'm definitely looking forward to the Actors Theater of Louisville version. I saw their production many times while growing up.

That's a great list!  But why isn't A Carol Christmas included?? :-\

Petty, the man in the petition, is charged with carrying a concealed weapon in commission of a felony, two counts of felony animal cruelty, child abuse and two counts of unlawful disposal of a domestic animal.
Volusia County Jail records show Petty is being held without bail.

Child abuse is because he tried to force his 16 year old son to shoot one of the dogs.  It was his scared & distraught son who told on him.

Oh, my!  Good for the son!

More tales from my own personal Mercury retrograde:
Yesterday the kitchen faucet, which is only a couple months ago, became much looser than it should be. It still worked, but I was worried it wouldn't much longer. I called the manager, who told me to talk to my neighbor David. David is very good at fix-it stuff, but I don't feel they should use him as a super without paying him. Anyway, I told David what the problem was and he was able to fix it, fortunately. One of the things that gripes me is that the management here is too cheap to hire a real plumber, who can often come out the same day. They will only use the el cheapo plumber, who usually can't get here for 3 or 4 days. i understand wanting to save money, but we are often without the use of basic plumbing for several days. I'm really glad when David -- or me or one of my friends -- can fix it.

I don't suppose David gets something off of his rent.

Thank you David for rescuing DR Jeanne.

No, they don't pay him at all. I sometimes pay him with a box of chocolates, which I'll do again this year.

I was a homeowner for thirty years, twenty of that in a house built in 1820. I had the plumber out maybe four times in twenty years. I've lived here about ten years and have had to have a plumber out several times each year. I suspect he buys the cheapest faucets available. I used to buy mid-range faucets and they'd last easily fifteen years. To me, this is false economy. But you can't tell the management here anything. "You don't know anything" isn't stated, but it comes across loud and clear.
