Well, you've read the notes, the notes were heavy with an occasional splash of light and airy, and now it is time for you to post until the light and airy cows come home.

After a good night of sleep, I get a lousy one.  Stella was particularly rowdy, and poor Thatch seemed uncertain whether he wanted to sleep in my bed or in the cat tree. It was another night of strange dreams and I remember bits of two of them.

In the first I was somewhere like Goodspeed, and there was a company picnic or something,  I think our DR ChasSmith might have been in the dream.  I remember being in a rural setting with lots of festivities and celebrants; then we were indoors watching videos of Hollywood home video footage from the 30s and 40s and trying to guess some of the people.

In the second dream, I was working somewhere outside New York where the men's room is one communal space like a school gymnasium.  All I remember of this is that I had dropped something and I was sitting on the floor trying to put it back together and friends kept stopping to talk to me. One of them was a theatre grad assistant from 1968 or 1969, and the other was the director of the Miami University Theatre Dept when I was a grad student.

I remember a fragment of another dream in which I think Judy Kaye might have been playing Mrs Shinn in The Music Man.

Since I need to wash my bedding and winterize my bed very soon, I must open the trunk with the comforter and blankets.  To do that I have to clean off the lid and putr away the many DVDs sitting on it. That will lead to more tidying as well.

And I am with the both of you. Dead tired and slogging my way through. I slept solidly and don’t even remember my dream even though it was “right there” when I got up.

It’s my fault for getting a second wind last night and not going to sleep till way too late. Therefore, I slog.

I am pleased to announce that RONALD REAGAN: MOVIE STAR, the 34th play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection is now available in both paperback and Kindle editions via Amazon and elsewhere.

The one-person stage play joins the actor in 1949, when he has just lost a major film role to Errol Flynn. Indeed, not much in his life seems to be going well at this time. Divorced from actress Jane Wyman, his recent romance with Patricia Neal has also taken a wrong turn after she discovered Gary Cooper.

Will there ever be a light at the end of this tunnel?

Performance rights to RONALD REAGAN: MOVIE STAR are available.

BK:

I love the THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN and most of the other Hammer movies.

They did some good ones.

As you probably know, Christopher Lee used to be my publicity client.

In fact, I've written a play about him...but I've already plugged one play today, so...

Last night, we watched:

WOMAN IN HIDING with Ida Lupino and Howard Duff.

The night before:

THE TAKING OF PELHAM 1-2-3
with Walter Matthau.

Well, before any further ado, I must get my ASS moving on running my last minute errands this morning. The supermarket is going to be hellish with panic shoppers clearing out the bread and milk.

Ronald Reagan was originally supposed to play opposite Ida Lupino in WOMAN IN HIDING, but a few days before filming started, he broke his leg during a baseball game.  He was replaced by Howard Duff...who later married Ida.

Watching the film last night, I figure that they must have rewritten the role for Duff, as I couldn't really see Reagan in that part.

I, too, slept poorly - was up for about 3 hours in the middle of the night. The DH woke me up this morning with 15 minutes to spare before needing to log in to work. I am running behind, needless to say.
