The inhaler REALLY helps at some rough moments, after which I'm fine for quite a while.  But some co-workers have asked me about side effects, of which I've had none.  And then they allude to "possible" side effects in the future...and I think, "No.  My doctor wouldn't prescribe something that might hurt me later on."

But then....

Have you had any concerns like that?

Oh doctors would never do that-right!  :o

If you are inhaling steroids there could be long term problems.  If you stop taking steroids you need to go off them slowly.  I don’t remember why.  On and off I used the inhaler before walking so I could breathe more easily.  Eventually I had to stop because it made me shake.

 I must be having trouble with my eyes.  I thought WFO was saying that Hilary Duff was in an episode of the TWILIGHT ZONE.

I am loving all of these DRAMATIC and FUNNY lines from plays!  DRSTUART what a great Rosemary story.

A few more DRKERRY may recognize:

"I just adore finding new places to wear diamonds!"

"It was the punch bowl, honey, the cut glass punch bowl!"

"You will take a subscription?  Well, bless you, Ida, bless you.  I mean thank you."

A couple from THE REAL THING by Tom Stoppard:

"I don't think writers are sacred, but words are.  They deserve respect.  If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little or make a poem which children will speak for you when you're dead."

and...

"It's no trick loving somebody at their best. Love is loving them at their worst."

and on similar lines from Oscar Wilde's AN IDEAL HUSBAND...

"It is not the perfect, but the imperfect, who have need of love."

And my FAVORITE OF ALL (in part):

"..... This story shall the good man teach his son;
and Crispin Crispian shall ne'r go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's Day."

"For England, Harry, and St George!"

I think this is also from THE REAL THING:

Wife:  You made love to me while I was asleep?

Husband:  I thought I would try without your talking for once.

I love that "I hope you die" line, also. In fact, I need to take THE LITTLE FOXES out and watch it again. Even with changes from the stage version, it's still a fantastic movie.

From Virginia Woolf, I always liked George's toast:
"For the mind's blind eye, the heart's ease, and the liver's craw.  Down the hatch, all."

The French version translates this as:

"A vôtre santé."

DR JENNIFER nice birthday buys!  Don't you love it when it all comes together like that?  And 50% off!

I guess DR MATTH - that I know several personalities got their initial starts via a contest (Debbie and Patsy are good examples) - but the actual contest itself did not propel them to the height of stardom that the AMERICAN IDOL program claims it will do for the winner.

I think it is a great springboard - but it is also a sort of Instant Oblivion for those who have nowhere to go, or not enough talent or guidance to build on the "popularity" it gives them briefly.   This is just my opinion, of course - as is EVERYTHING I post here.

As for Constantine - well that's what makes horse racing.  I am sure there are PLENTY of performers that I like that would (at the very least) bore you.  I am also sure that there are many that we have in common.

EYES was so very entertaining last night. It kills me to know the ratings are crappy, and the show has a slim to none chance of being renewed for next season. But it's one of the smartest and most entertaining caper shows in a long time, since MOONLIGHTING, I'd say.

Quite a few of the IDOLS who didn't win, including Clay Aiken, Tamyra Gray, Matt Metzger, and Frenchie Davis to name four that come instantly to mind, have parlayed their exposure on the show to nice careers on stage and TV.

But NO ONE can predict the public's acceptance or rejection of a new personality. MGM learned that with Lucille Bremer: great introduction in MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, a starring role opposite Fred Astaire in YOLANDA AND THE THIEF, and within two years, her screen career was over.

The last two IDOLs have not had supersonic record sales, so you can't predict whether winning that title will launch them into the heights of stardom or merely show them to be flashes in the pan. All the show can do is provide an introduction. The rest is up to fate really.

CP great lines from AN IDEAL HUSBAND.

And from THE IMPORTANCES OF BEING EARNEST:

“When one is in town one amuses oneself. When one is in the country one amuses other people.”

"To lose one parent, Mr. Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness."

Speaking of which.....Thea Gill (the blonde lesbian from QAF) played Lucille Bremer in ME AND MY SHADOWS the tv movies featuring Judy Davis as Judy Garland.

The scene she did involved the problems Garland, Minelli, and Bremer had in filming the "mirror" scene in MEET ME IN ST LOUIS.....and it was just the same on the TV movie.  Davis kept insisting that Gill was getting in her way and in her face and that the director was favoring Gill in the scene.  And if it doesn't sound familiar, it's because the entire sequence was CUT from the final film.

Matt H, sorry the ratings for EYES are low.  We just watched the previous episode that aired while we were in Portland.  Guess tonight we will watch the new one.
