Good Afternoon!

Well, I went ahead and moved all my storage boxes into my newly-rented storage unit.  It took me about three trips.  About 34 boxes total.  Most of it is music, but there are also a bunch of "shoeboxes" that are long overdue for sorting through (and shredding or filing).  Hopefully, I'll make some progress on those next week during the day.

Once I got back here, I vacuumed out the newly-empty closet.  I was glad not to find any dead mice in there - and I wouldn't have been surprised if I had after the problem I had last fall.  However, I did find another mouse hole in the closet.   Now I just need to find the foam-insulation stuff to plug it up.  Then I bundled up a bunch of magazines for the recycling bin.  -I found that I had stored a box of back issues in my closet; and now I have another free box for more stuff!

I did stop at the Bubble Tea place on the way back where I picked up a very refreshing Lychee Slush with Jelly.  I was all set for the "grass jelly" that I usually find at these places - trust me, it tastes better than it sounds/looks - and, no, it's not made of grass.  However, they were using a great mix of little cubes of mango, coconut and peach flavored gelatin.  Quite yummy, and a perfect complement to my Lychee Slush.

And now, I'm taking a little breather before boxing up my small kitchen electrics.  And then... Hmm...  We shall see...

DR Jane - I'm not feeling sideways... just felt like changing things up.  I may go ahead and change it back later tonight.  *I also uploaded a couple of other "options" last week, so...

Stay tuned!

DR MBarnum - Per yesterday's post:  ;)

As for my "move"...

Right now, everything is going into storage here in Richmond.

I'll be here next week playing Mamma Mia!, and staying at Steve's.  During the day next week, I hope to go through my various "shoeboxes" of stuff so that I can whittle down all that stuff.  -My paper shredder will be getting quite the workout I do believe.

Then it's up to Fairfax where I will be staying with my parents like I usually do when I have a gig up in DC.  I start Mamma Mia! up there on the 17th, and that should take me through July 2.  Then it's up to NYC.

I'm hoping to make good use of my daytime hours while I'm up in DC.  I plan to bring a box or two of "stuff" up from Richmond each week.  Sort.  Purge.  Give away.  I'm even toying with taking on a couple of hours at my old music store.  Any extra funds for my upcoming move can only help.

I have a few more leads on another place in NYC, and in the same neighborhood I was looking at before.  I also found out that the "old" place may actually be repaired and ready by July, so...

We shall see...

Another great MAMMA MIA! photo.

Good news from DRJOEY - and good vibes for DRJOSE that his computer comes back home soon!

Actually, this series of photos was taken during the run of Camelot at Arena Stage last season.  I don't think I could get enough "mood lighting" in the Mamma Mia! pit.  Well, I'd get lighting, but...

 ;D

And thanks for the Computer Vibes.  -I'm feeling OK with the whole situation.  And I might as well use my roomie's computer since he rarely does.

-And it really is amazing just how much stuff one can get done when one is not spending all day with a laptop on his lap.

DR Jrand - And Thanks for jogging my memory about Lisa Mandel and Copacabana.  I actually played two weeks of that tour.  WOW!  and UGH!  Talk about overblown!  It was a BIG show.  In fact, at the time, they were travelling with more trailers filled with set pieces and costumes than any other show on the road at that time.  Even more than Phantom of the Opera.

However, there was some great talent in that cast.  And talk about a Curtain Call!

-All together now..

Has this "charming" British craze come to anyone's attention?

I don't recall reading about it here, although I might well have missed it.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,3604,1470161,00.html

What I will say is, bring it on!  I've been spoiling to knock someone's block off for a long time...and this would be a good reason to do it!

:D
I'd suggest handcuffing the perps, but that's considered cruel and demeaning.

Dear Jose, I do like the new picture, but I really loved the last one... and I am also noticing I'm developing a tendency to put my head sidewise to see your face properly....

jest ma too sents.. not that it was requested   ;D

Hmm... I don't have to turn sidewise to see myself.  Are you sure it's not you who is turned sidewise?

Whew!  That frenzy sort of tuckered me out.  Well, that and moving 34 boxes-o-stuff into storage.

OH!

And I just have to say at this time...

Something to think about DR TCB - when Buffalo Bill Cody was denied a concession at the 1893 Chicago Columbian Exposition World's Fair.  He hired a outdoor stadium across the street and attracted his own crowds - Annie Oakley was part of the show!

When there was a controversy about keeping the fair open on Sunday, which Susan B. Anthony favored, a man jumped up and yelled: "Would you rather your son go to see Buffalo Bill Cody on Sunday than go to Church?"

Anthony replied:  "Yes!  He would probably learn more, too."

Cody went to the newspapers and offered Anthony a free pass to come to his show any time she wanted.  She came the next week, sat in a box of honor, and Cody raced across the arena on his horse and kissed her proffered hand - to a standing ovation by the crowd of nearly 17,000 (paid) admissions.

During his stay in Chicago, a young woman from out west came to his hotel and was rather surprised to be taken up to the suite of Mr and Mrs Cody - since she, at the time, WAS Mrs. Cody!

Trivia:

On this day, April 28th, two hundred and sixteen years ago, the crew of the Bounty mutinied against Capt. William Bligh.

(We here at HHW treat our Williams with much more courtesy, thankfully.)
