DR JohnG, thanks for the information on Dunbar.  I'm curious to read it now.  Is it as good as 1000 Acres, which I thought was a brilliant take on King Lear?

I was reading about this book yesterday, and I thought you might find it interesting.

DR elmore3003, thanks for your take(s) on Messiah. It is interesting how many of your choices coincide with those of David Hurwitz.

I just watched the "online" pageant from the church where I work. It was really touching and funny, and included the usual toddler angels and sheep, and a camel consisting of a large family dog arranged with a hump apparatus.  I can only image the hours of filming and editing involved to put this all together, with the support of all the parents of the children involved. We adapt to our circumstances in unique and creative ways!

I was searching online for information about the book DR elmore3003 mentioned above in vain, until I realized that the author's last name is "Crace," not "Grace."

If last December someone told me that I willingly get up at 6 am on a Sunday so I could queue for 2 +  hours in 22 F weather for the opportunity to have a strange man shove a Q-tip up my nose ....

I just listened to David Hurwitz's Messiah breakdown.  I disagree with him about Mozart.

He's quite entertaining and occasionally very funny, but I found him poor in discussing the textual issues of the recordings, like the fact that Mackerras' recording chose alternates to the standard lineup determined by Prout. The Watkins Shaw edition accepts the Prout numbering and then includes an appendix of several possivle replacements.

No. It’s no Jane Smiley. I loved that book. This is a little cooler.

I ordered a DVD of Street Scene from the Met Opera. I don’t know which version it is because I haven’t opened the box yet. I like to be surprised at what I buy myself.

Elmore, my comment was in jest.  The woman on the right in the upper photo is holding a book, so I imagined it was Ginny prompting the cast.😜

DRTCB I am glad you are getting a second test.  If it too is negative will you test for antibodies?

Sasha’s new stepbrother is expected to arrive here tomorrow.  I have threatened the little bitch bodily harm if she is mean to him.

Tom from your comments I thought you no longer had Sasha.  I am glad to know she is still with you.

Major vibes the two get along and become the best of friends.

TCB, you hadn't mentioned Sasha in such a long time that I was figuring you had to return her because she nipped you. I'm so glad to hear she is still there -- and getting a new brother!

Excellent.  This test was due to possible exposure not symptoms, correct?  The odds were slim you were exposed.
