ChasSmith, your Lolita was delivered on 12//7 but apparently not to you - it went to Watervliet NY wherever that is - trying to get to the bottom of it, but she clearly was overwhelmed at having to ship over 400 of these puppies AND the other three.  It looks like she sent the guy in Watervliet your and HIS package - he obviously didn't think it necessary to contact us about the error, but I'll be contacting him.

Oh, my. :-\ Hope it all can be resolved quickly and easily!

For your holiday entertainment.  A lot of sheep, a few herding dogs, and lights.

So this past summer, I was supposed to be in a locally written and produced play celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Olympian Hotel, here in downtown Olympia.  I think I was going to give tours before and/or after the show, and have one line in the play itself, but, of course, it had to be cancelled.  However, the author reworked the script into a radio play, and it's playing right now on the local KGY radio station!  It's fun to hear my friends.  Too bad it won't be archived.  It's a "listen to it now or never" situation. ::) So, I'm listening!

I assume that since I only had one line in the script (and I hadn't even gotten the script before it was cancelled), I wasn't involved in the radio play (but I'm not bitter ;) ). Anyway, they pre-recorded and edited the show and it's going on now and it's real fun!  Here's an article about the radio play:

Looking at the cast list on the Facebook event listing, there's only one actor that I don't know.  It's been fun identifying the voices I recognize...and if I don't recognize the voice, trying to figure out who it is because I know just about everyone. :)

Good Afternoon.  Church services went well, cold, but well.  I went to the Target afterward to pick up some beer for the beer bread I'm making as Christmas gifts.  Target didn't seem to have "normal" beer, just all the "light" varieties and a ton of IPA's.  Only in the Bay Area will you find this situation.  Seems as though "real" beer is beneath them - but light beer is fine.  I'm done trying to figure people out

The boys are on the mend. I can't say much more about that because, like the beer, I'm done with that scenario as well.  Also, I can't find my Apple watch.  I think it's gone, I haven't a clue.

Anyway - Happy Sunday to all.

I used to like IPA’s, but then they became trendy and were hopped into an unpleasant profile.

Sorry about the car break-in, BK. What is an iPod worth these days?

I saw this and thought immediately of DR Chas

As well you should!  :)

An attractive package, to be sure. But so outrageously overpriced. Assuming you can get to a Kroger or any other store in the midwest that sells the chili, there's not $20 worth of goods there.

My tablet is now going through a systems update.  I'm sure that it'll be fine when it's done, but I'm always apprehensive until it's back up and running.

Back from picking up a package.  And Merry Christmas and a perfect wrap up to 2020 - my car was broken into - no damage, and just like three years ago - pretty sure I locked it and I was up until four so when they did it is anyone's guess - they got all the change that I keep there, the iPod, and two tote bags that I'm pretty sure only had trash in them or scripts or whatever -nothing valuable there.  They took everything out of the glove box but there was nothing of value there so I just had to clean up their mess.  I hope karma pays them a very swift visit but I find that karma doesn't usually do that to the right people.  They must have some way to get around the electronic locks - because what are the odds that IF for some reason I didn't lock it, they'd pick that exact night to do it?  Thankfully, these asshats didn't go in the trunk and therefore missed the stuff they could have actually made money on - a wireless mic, two pieces of original art, and a box of CDs.  Last time it happened, same thing - no trunk action.

Were the bags in the car visible?  While I am glad nothing of great value was stolen, if something is seen it does encourage them :(

A friend told that quite a few years ago (probably in the 1980s), his car had been broken into and ALL of his vocal scores had been stolen!  He was a musical director and vocal coach/teacher, so it was ALL the music that he used for his lessons.  It was devastating and really affected his business.  The perps were never caught. :P

The two tote bags were in the back seat as they have been for the past year - just trash and maybe a script for something I was working on - that's it.  I think it was the same jerks that did it two years ago - exactly the same m.o. and exactly the same things taken.  I just find it fascinating that they somehow knew it was the night they should do it.

Listening to a glorious album of orchestral music by the composer of Schwanda - Jaromir Weinberger - it includes a six-movement suite of music from Schwanda, and incredible piece called Bohemian Songs and Dances, and the Overture from The Beloved Voices - on CPO in brilliant sound.

Eternally grateful to elmore for making me buy Schwanda.  I'm syncing my older iPod now - thankfully I still had it and it's a 500 gig reconfigured thing so all the music fits.  But now I'll have to take it out of the car every night, and I'm taking everything out of the trunk.

I'm also keeping all the operas together in the house now.  I cleared four shelves to do so, so that they're all in one place - of course, I have to find the ones that are in boxes I haven't gone through yet - I have Walton's Troilus and Cressida somewhere, and another Porgy and Bess, and a few others, too.  But most have been located and are shelved.

The syncing of the iPod will take hours and hours - in addition to what was already on there, it's adding almost 6,000 new things, but it's also nuking what's no longer in iTunes.
