Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are having the weirdest Christmas special. It’s live. People post Christmas songs they want to hear, and they sing them. Garth plays guitars. That’s it. It’s really good, but it’s so lowkey.

Did I miss it?  I didn't see a report on how dramatic DR Laura's dramatic reading was.

I did not read how the reading went. Was it live streamed?

No; I think it was a private church event.

It went well. However, I had to follow quite a difficult act; the reading of the Christmas story using photos from the past. I saw Wae-Ling as an angel at about age 4.

We went to Holiday Lights at the railroad park tonight. It was quite a hit.

We went for a drive along Fisher Road where, on the Sunday before Christmas each year, they line both sides of the street with luminaria for a stretch of about half a mile.  It’s a spectacular site.

I seem to remember a spectacular stretch of luminarias the year I lived Middletown.

Learned this past week that a friend of mine from Middletown, Greg Mahaney, a photographer at the paper died recently. We hadn’t been in touch for years, but it still hurts.

Syncing almost done - another 1000 songs to go - probably thirty minutes to an hour.

I also am of the opinion that I'm probably not the only motor car on this block that they did their dirty business with.

Meanwhile, I'm listening to Schwanda again - can't upload anything while the sync is going on - it bogs everything down.

Syncing finished - finally!  Three hours.  Now playing: Lady in the Dark - great Weill score and I've always loved this recording - Columbia - Rise Stevens - Lehman Engel conducting and fun Columbia stereo.  Had hot dogs for lunch and then much later an egg sandwich for a snack - should put me right at 1000 calories.
