DR Laura - I hope it will be possible for you to post a photo of the luminarias.

If my ears aren't deceiving me, I think I hear the pitter-patter or raindrops.

Heartwarming story about a beautiful dog.

https://www.dailypaws.com/pet-news-entertainment/adoption-stories/ciabatta-franklin-county-shelter-dog-adopted

He's so adorable.

Once I adopted a dog that had been in the shelter for five years. Um, there was a reason for that. At least her final two years were good ones. But she tried my patience.

Well, the Christmas season that keeps on giving - dead battery - it's only six months old so there is something seriously wrong with the car's electrical system, I'm convinced.  That's what's causing these issues, I think.  AAA on its way and then we'll see what's what.

Oh, I'm sorry, bk.  Thank goodness for AAA. They've bailed me out a number of times in the past few months.

Those were entertaining, DR John G.  Sort of like the epicurean equivalent of John Daker.

I think I could stomach John Daker better than a Hamdy Candy Cane.

Some of those weird food items would make great white elephant gifts at a Christmas party.

Am I weird? Some of those sound good. Like the mint Twinkies and the Christmas pizza and the peppermint chip milkshake.

I gave my son a set of Christmas Dinner Jones Soda one year. He thought it was great.

A couple did sound good, but not the ketchup candy cane.

Yes, we had some rain here this morning. It's been months and months since we've had any, and God knows we need it. But Southern Californians tend to not go out much when it's raining, and that may have hurt some businesses.

I went out briefly. The streets were quiet. The Italian restaurant with the bargain lunches was actually pretty busy. After picking up my food I spotted a $10 bill on the ground. I put it in the tip jar. I just hope whoever lost it didn't come back for it.

Next year I'd like to see free tutors available for all the kids who've gotten behind in school. And we need a major initiative to bring back restaurants and open new ones. So many have had to close.

Singdaw, ChocZero chocolate isn't as sweet as some other chocolate. I prefer it that way, as I don't care for overly sweet things. But I'm sure there are some people who don't like it. I find that if I get away from sweets for a while I lose the urge for sweets and suddenly the things I used to like are now too sweet for me. I liked ChocZero from the start, but for some people it might take a little getting used to. I love that fact that it has no sugar and no artificial sweeteners.

George, I was tempted by the syrups, but I know I'd want them on ice cream and then I'd just be eating too much sugar. I abstained.

Good news about the rain.

Laura, several years ago I wanted to lose a few pounds and went on a soup diet. Every day one meal was soup. It could be any kind of soup, but it was soup. The diet was quite successful and I lost the weight.

Just too nervous about driving the motor car any real distance - I'll know more in the morning - if it starts then, maybe it will be okay.

Maybe other restaurants were busy for Christmas Eve.
