Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

DR George our Fred Meyer has an electronic section.  I often find batteries there that are not out in the "stacks".

I didn't think to check there.  Thanks for the suggestion, Jane.

You are welcome.  I am surprised you were not directed to that department to begin with.

It was a mature cactus when we moved here 40 years ago. They grow arms at about age 75, so this was an old cactus.

It's too bad that it had to be taken down.

Wednesday afternoon greetings!  We’ve had a very quiet day here today, but have caught up on some reading.  I started one of the books Richard gave me for Christmas - The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett.  It’s the January selection for one of my book groups.

Glad to hear DR Elmore received good medical news and hoping DR TCB does, too!

Had a work session involving the music for project one, then a quick Zoom session with one of the performers, the motor car started, but I'm holding off going to the mail place until Amazon Delivery actually gets there, probably around four, and now I'm having a chicken Caesar salad.

When I got home the saguaro was gone. I was hoping to see the removal. I was only gone for a couple of hours.

All buildings in the vicinity are still standing, I hope.

Jane, to text myself, I list myself among my contacts. Then I just enter my name when I send the text. I get two copies of everything.

I suggested it for my group and didn't get a response.  What do you think so far?

I’m only 20 pages in, so I really can’t express an opinion yet.

I had a much-needed visit to the chiropractor today, followed by a stop to pick up a bargain Italian meal.

It's a beautiful day here and the streets were relatively quiet. What a difference that makes!

Yesterday, for me, was like a mega Mercury retrograde. In fact, since the pandemic started there's been a lot of that. I don't mean Covid stuff -- just all sorts of foul-ups and miscommunication. Very annoying.

10.6 mile bike ride, nice and chilly - the best time to go out.  I listened to the entire 1994 cast recording of Show Boat which I love because there is just enough music not to be too long.  Speaking of "Show Boat", I'm almost ready to watch all 3 movies in a row.  It might be my favorite classic Broadway show - or a tie with The King and I

DR Jane - I checked my liquor cabinet and it seems that I have Martini and Rossi - Rosso.  So, red vermouth, I think I got it to make Negroni's.    I'm going to try it in a manhattan this eve - I'm assuming it's a sweet vermouth.
