Listening to an opera by Wilhelm Kienzle - Der Evangelimann. I thought it might be like the Entartete stuff, but no, it's VERY old-fashioned in its musical style. Some pretty stuff, some rousing choral stuff, but not my favorite - and two-and-a-half hours.

OMG, does everyone have their black-eyed peas??

I didn't know about this till two years ago. It's a Southern, or maybe a New Orleans, tradition that there be some black-eyed peas at every gathering on New Year's Eve, because no one must enter a new year hungry. Or something like that. Anyway, we got 'em. And we shan't enter it hungry.

The package situation is crazy.

I have Amazon items that up until this afternoon said they'd be delivered today, that are now showing as arriving 2 weeks from now.

Another item that this afternoon was showing as to be delivered two weeks from now suddenly shows as being delivered today.
