Kristi is on a zoom call with the friends who would normally be here. One couple moved to San Diego a couple of years ago, but in a normal year they still come back for the holidays and would be here now.

What did you start doing this year as a result of Covid that you wish to keep doing even post-Covid?

I found and used a personal grocery shopper. I didn't know there was such a thing. I'd used personal shoppers at department stores, but that's not quite the same. I found it to be very convenient and plan to continue using him.

The car wash I usually use closed due to Covid, but reopened last September with a new owner and new prices. No longer a bargain. But they now offer an express wash for half price. Just the outside of your car, because many people don't want someone inside their car. I'll use that! My car doesn't get very dirty inside and I can do this between full-service washes.

I must say that the second half of this Kienzl opera got much better - many beautiful passages and the interludes are truly lovely, plus Helen Donath is in it and I adore her from Hansel Und Gretel on the Anna Moffo recording.

I started a “memory planner,” a mashup of a weekly calendar/diary/scrapbook and had no idea how essential would become in trying to distinguish one day from the next. It’s also helped me use up a lot of the paper crafting materials I’ve accumulated over the past 8 years.

My 2021 book is all set up and ready to go!
