In my high school years I listened to a lot of radio, and one new discovery I’d always fondly recalled was a late night call-in show that I enjoyed listening to and falling to sleep by. Years later I found Larry King’s speaking style and personality reminding me of that show’s host, but it wasn’t until even later that I researched it and learned that it would indeed have been him, because he got his start in south Florida — even before I was tuning in, which would have been somewhere in the 1965-1967 time frame.
