DR Jeanne, I've been thinking about your medical situation.

Sometimes, it seems as though the medical/insurance process grinds excruciatingly and frustratingly slowly.

Yes. I have not had the really horrible experiences that some people have had -- mine are more of the annoying and frustrating variety. But I see so many blunders that could easily be fixed. That was prior to Covid, and Covid, of course, has made everything more difficult.

Last week I spoke to my surgeon directly. That was a coup of sorts as they channel everything to the PA. I had to be insistent and probably ruffled a few feathers in the process, but I feel strongly that I have the right to talk to my doctor. Such an uppity female!  I've long felt that for these large bureaucracies the convenience of the institution takes priority over the welfare of the patient. You have to fight with them sometimes.

I never imagined the US would have the most cases in the entire world.

Yes, I would never have expected that.

An all-potato diet? I used to love potatoes, but even I couldn't abide that!

Speaking of food, it's time for me to have some lunch.

I opened a touching story of John Stamos talking about his two year old crying because Stamos has to quarantine after being exposed to covid.

"The actor, who is father to son Billy, 2, who he shares with wife Caitlin McHugh,"

More than once the article mentioned he shares the kid with his wife.  Why does that have to be stated since they are married & live together.

Impressive, indeed.

I didn't read the whole article, but I am wondering how they take into account that folks inside the bubble are inevitably going to have interactions with people outside the bubble.  And that is the crux of the problem.

What the HELL?

BK, did you know about this one? Sorry for bad pics, they aren't mine.

Can they have reissued the Warner Bros. one? It looks like no orchestra credit here, either. The plot thickens.

Yes, very impressive.  I saw the story this morning & didn't want to read it on my tablet.  Thanks for the reminder.

It's a whole different recording - I've never heard it, but would like to.

I think Ann-Margret's Lady Booby is also quite wonderful, too.  I think the movie's problem might be that Tony Richardson seems more interested in the grime, bawdiness and lechery of 18th century England than the style and elegance that Tom Jones had.  Maybe he needed John Osborne to write the screenplay?

I think you're right. Richardson took credit for the story, but whoever did the actual writing built everything up into Ann-Margret dropping an f-bomb. Hardly witty

I just finished Miss Scarlet and the Duke for the season. Very much enjoyed. I wonder what I will watch next.

I think tonight we will try the first episode of the show.

I have the BBC Shakespeare's The Tempest with Michael Hordern as Prospero, and he's so befuddled as Baptista in Zeffirelli's Taming of the Shrew.

And he was a hoot in A Funny Thing ...

I watched MISS SCARLET last night, too. I've been watching a couple episodes a week. I have a major issue with some of the writing, which I mentioned before, but I enjoy the series otherwise.

The leading lady sort of reminds me of Kristin Chenoweth.

It is one thing to protest having to wear a mask, it is another to shut down covid vaccinations at Dodger Stadium  >:(

It is also stupid.  The sooner we are all vaccinated the sooner they won't be requested to wear masks.

I went for a little walk on the gravel loop out back.  Walking back up the swans were on the grass enjoying a meal.  The male swan was very close to the path & as I passed him he made scary sounds at me ;D

I was texting with a neighbor right after returned home.  At the end of the conversation I mentioned the swan.  She laughed & said her husband saw me.  :))
