Tomorrow is pancake day and this is the recipe I've chosen:

https://canolaeatwell.com/recipe/puffed-oven-rhubarb-pancake/

I'm thinking of adding blueberries.

They're already talking about us not being able to work tomorrow because of continued power outages.

My friend Bonnie in San Angelo doesn't have power, but the other side of the street does. That has to hurt.

I remembered that, but not the Bethel part. Whereabouts?

We owned a condo in the Kingswood development, on top of the hill. Quite close to downtown.

Oh man, I loved that place and would like to have rented there when I first moved here, but the deal with that condo owner didn’t work out. I ended up in Crow’s Nest up the next hill in Danbury, where I lived happily for the next 2-1/2 years.

Heated pots of green water and did dishes. Now it’s back to Dolly Parton.

Jeanne, Eric wasn't in A Carol Christmas. And yes, When You're Waiting for Love is an older song that just happened to fit perfectly. So is She's Moving In, which I wrote for my cabaret act but that no one had ever heard outside of the two or three times I did it - I also talk about it extensively in the book of lyrics because I always felt I failed the song in the ending of it. I end by saying, maybe someday I'll fix it and get it right, and for Tonight's the Night I did - the new ending came quite by surprise during a shower and it just worked perfectly as a capper.

Project One was really One-derful!

At one hearing, my two favorite numbers were the counterpoint duet and Hartley's ballad about waiting for love.

I've always loved "When You're Waiting for Love."  Hartley sang it wonderfully. ;D

While I was watching, I kept thinking about how Hollywood would screw it up and cast glamorous people like George Clooney and Julia Roberts in the roles. What I liked about the piece was that Eric and Hartley were not "glamorous," and their physical changes of the past twenty years weren't an issue.

Exactly.  The characters are essentially real people with typical real people issues.  They're not glamorous people.  It would be like Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune.  Edie Falco and Stanley Tucci were in the original Broadway production, but when they made the movie, they cast Michelle Pfeiffer and Al Pacino.

This is weird...when I went to www.ibdb.com to look up the original Broadway production, it was taking a long time to get to the page, so I clicked on the page for the revival.  That came up without any trouble, but when the original Broadway page finally came up, I literally got this.  This is the entire page:

DR CHAS SMITH in my ZOOM set up.....down in the tray at the bottom of the screen there is a CAMERA icon....if you click on the little tab on it you get a selection of things.....

Change background etc.....and one of them is Video Filters.  If you check the Filters you get a selection of things including hats, glasses, rabbit ears, etc that you can add to your face.

I also always go to the top right and click to get GALLERY VIEW so that I can see everyone in the group.

I was on my tablet the last time, so I didn't have any of those options, not even gallery view.  I could only see whoever was speaking, or just making noise.

People were out walking this afternoon.  Since I only had a mile left to walk I stayed inside.  I am sure there are still icy spots out there.

Jane, if there was one small 3’ X 3’ patch of ice left in the entire state of Washington, you would slip on it.😜

TOD:

I think Hartley’s When You’re Looking for Love got me most yesterday. She really does wonders with the song, at times wistful, at times sad, at times realistic, but ever hopeful.

Last year, my friend Mark started up a vocal workshop and I went to a couple of sessions.  He used to have these years ago, and I was involved for several years before he moved back to California.  We had only two, maybe three sessions this time, and then everything shut down. :P Hopefully, he'll be able to start it back up again.

Anyway, I was planning on singing three of BK's songs!  "When You're Waiting for Love," "Everything is Gonna Be All Right" (from Welcome To My World) and "Two Roads," cowritten with Richard M. Sherman. :)

I know my version of "When You're Waiting for Love" won't hold a candle to Hartley, but I'll give it my spin. ;)
