I am glad that the opera CD is selling well....I listened to one of the clips and it was entertaining.....but since I don't know the source material, I'm not sure if I would enjoy listening to it.....but then again.....I might.

TOD

This week I dipped into a couple of Australian films I'd been hankering to see for the first time in a couple of decades:  Nicholas Roeg's Walkabout and Peter Weir's The Last Wave. Such solid atmosphere in both, and I'd like to follow those up with more, but I think all I have here is Picnic at Hanging Rock. I'll watch that for diversion, then see what else I can find. I remember going to Phillip Noyce's Rabbit-Proof Fence and liking it enough, so I'll have to see what's available on that.

Walkabout is amazing.

DR vixmom, last night I was watching the battle between the Ohio gorilla Jim Jordan and Dr Fauci, and I wonder if your charming client yesterday may be a Jordan relative.

Typo alert. It’s Gym Jordan.

My sister confirms to me that my nephew works in a FedEx location in a downtown hotel......that's the last information we all have from about a year and half ago....so I would guess that he is fine.

Well that FED EX center is where my nephew met his idiot bitch of a wife - they were working together.  She is 19 years OLDER than he is and completely out of her mind.

She alienated him from his family and none of us - his parents and sisters included - are welcome to talk to him or see him....and they are not on social media that we can see.

He got another job a year ago.....but quit.....details are boring....  She claims she has numerous diseases....including fibro myalgia, myolema, bi-polar, etc etc etc.

We think after he quit his job he went back to FedEx.....but we don't know.  So we wait.....

I hope he is ok.

There is no earthly reason for any civilian to own an automatic or semi-automatic weapon, in my opinion.

I completely agree.

That's one of my sister's boyfriend's favorite movies.

I think you would like the Anouilh play. It takes place at the end of the 19th century, and concerns an aging star of the Parisian theatre with two sons. One is a roué and sophisticated boulevardier and his younger brother is a rather naive soldier who, called to duty, leaves his pretty young wife Colombe in the care of his mother. The play is about Colombe's involvement in the theatre world as she becomes a leading actress with several lovers in the theatrical company, including her brother-in-law. When the soldier returns, he's greatly disillusioned. Then there's an epilogue taking place backstage some time before the play begins; a pretty young girl delivers flowers backstage where she meets the young son of the star who's a soldier. Did she set him up?

And speaking of Carmen, Matthew Bourne’s The Car Man is streaming on YouTube right now for probably just the weekend.  It's a fundraiser, so it won't be available for long. :)
