I scheduled a hair appointment for next week, much needed. I, too, would like a massage, but am still sutured. She could work around that, though. I'd love to have lunch with a friend, but just don't feel comfortable with that yet. I'd love to spend a few days at a spa, but don't want to fly, and my allergies are making food choices very limited. No spas for a while methinks. Too bad I don't like camping. I'm not looking for adventure -- I just want to relax and recharge.

What about meeting up with a vaccinated friend and lunching outside in their back yard.

I've been watching a Swedish series, THE RESTAURANT, set in Stockholm in 1945. The ad compares it to DOWNTON ABBEY, but A PLACE TO CALL HOME is a better comparison. Very well done, really solid acting, sets, and so on. It's on Amazon Prime Video, but "leaves" on April 30. I suspect it'll still be there, but with ads or $. Right now it's free. Worth watching.

Does it have subtitles?

I went to the bank, then bought some falafel take-out. This branch of the bank has a machine that gives you a ticket and another machine that later reads your ticket and tells you how much you must pay. It's $2.50 per 15 minutes. Just as I was about to put my flimsy paper ticket into the slot a gust of wind came up and blew it out of my hand! I looked all over for it, but didn't see it. I reluctantly pressed the LOST TICKET button on the screen, then when nothing happened, the HELP button. Nothing continued to happen. Of course, by this time cars were stacking up behind me and they couldn't get out until I did, and the barrier was blocking my way. Most annoying! Then the welcome sight of a young parking attendant. She was very understanding and did some magic so I could leave WITHOUT having to pay some outrageous lost ticket fee. Yay!

Except for the falafel it sounds like you need another Me Day to make up for this one.

No, the cooperative parking attendant saved me from that. But I do think I need more Me days than I take.

Yes. It's in Swedish, but parts are in French. My French is very limited. The subtitles are quite adequate, in my view.

I've thought about something like that. I was thinking take-out, then going to a park with large tables for distancing.

I went with back yard as you might not be able to control the number of people at a park.

This afternoon I watched the Met’s “The Merry Widow” and now I can’t get that waltz out of my head.
I just saw that it was on and feel the same way. Earworm alert!

Not much of a day. Had the Stanley's chopped salad, which I picked up, and that was pretty good. Did a few things on the computer, too. Watched a movie.

We have been watching The Restaurant, thanks to DR Jeanne's suggestion. I like it, but not nearly as much as Downton Abbey. I think we'll just be able to finish the last episode by April 30.

But how often does a DOWNTON ABBEY come along?

And now, it's time for me to leave work.  My mom wants me to come over for a bit, then I'll do a little shopping for my sister, then I'll go home.

Be back later.
