Only the one organizer so far - I suspect the Facebook algorithm is once again working its wonders, so I posted it again.

I "liked" your post to boost the algorithm.

I'd read/heard that just "liking" something on FB doesn't help.  You need to actually post a message, even just a smilie face, to affect the algorithms...but that's just what I've heard.

Darn.  I thought in the past Bruce seemed to think it did help.

On disc five - even the warhorses sound great and while it became very fashionable for musical snobs to denigrate Mr. Ormandy over the years, simply  because he was one of the most popular classical recording artists ever, suddenly all these snobs are changing their tune and raving about this set. They disgust me, these people. Oh, I guess he WAS pretty great after all. These people should all be put in a room together and made to atone for their many sins.

And now, thanks to a build-up of Amazon credit over the past year, plus an unused Amazon gift card, I'm now the owner of the Ormandy box set. It just dropped in price by ten bucks, of course, which is annoying and which I might call about, because that's just unfair to those who purchase these things. At the price, these 120 CDs come out to about 2.40 each. And I'm listening to disc one - discs one and two are the earliest recordings in the set - and the sound is amazing for 1944 and 1945. And Ormandy is just the berries, I must say. This is just the tonic I needed in this stressful time and it will make the next two days much easier. And there's lots of repertoire I'm not familiar with, which is also fun.

Great news about the price. Happy listening.

Ditto and Ditto!

Ha - i went to the gasoline station for $15 worth of gasoline.  I hate  to have to guess how much I need since I have to prepay.....so it's not quite full.....price $2.899 per gallon.

Then to Lowe's to get a thing so that I can extend the dryer vent hose......I don't like the thing I bought that vents into the house....it's kinda creepy.

Then to Goodwill where I found a small pewter tray that I needed - right there on the shelf.  I also purchased the Phantom of the Opera complete Broadway recording - I only had the Highlights CD.

And a book.

You did well. We Californians would love to pay $2.899/gal. And the pewter tray sounds nice.

Dryers really should NOT be vented into the house. Lint plus warm air causes mold. Really best to vent outside.

What about a ventless dryer?

I mean if you can make me like a Beethoven symphony, you're pretty great. His tempos are never sluggish and he gets the job done. And the sound on these mono recordings really is superb. And there's a lot of American music in this set, so that's great and very little in this set has ever made it to CD. I'd say, even in month five, that this is the box set of the year.

Then I texted with the moving company and their ETA to arrive at the new space is actually at noon o'clock, which is great. They seem very together. I'm still at one helper, but I know he's very organized. And I have another guy on hold, but waiting to hear if he's been vaccinated, which the other fellow and I have been.

Continued moving vibes!

The rain is coming down heavily. Some of the plants will love it. I took one sort of out of harm's way today.

I was all set to buy some new blinds for my windows this weekend. But all of them are apparently old-fashioned sizes. Don't know what to do but wait.

DR Jeanne - I checked on The Restaurant to see how many episodes are left. Two left in Season One, with 3 hours until it disappears. We're not going to make it. What I didn't realize is that there's also a Season Two, Three, and Four!

I’ve started a dark mystery from a friend called East of Texas, West of Hell. It’s a real page-turner.

Sing, I finished THE RESTAURANT season 1. It was certainly not predictable.

The series is still available, as I suspected, but is no longer free. $2.99/episode or $19.99 for the season isn't cheap, IMHO. But you can subscribe to Sundance Now for $6.99/mo and watch it, which I think is done through Amazon. I don't know what else is on Sundance Now.

Also, I read an article that says that after S1 you should skip to S4, titled THE RESTAURANT: 1951, before going to S2. S2 and S3 take place after 1951.

I've been reading Minette Walters' THE CHAMELEON'S SHADOW. I used to read a lot of Minette, but hadn't done so in maybe ten years. This one is quite good. I keep saying I'll look for lighter novels, but somehow keep going back to mysteries and other at least somewhat darkish works. That's where the drama is.

Off now to read.
