Well, you've read the notes, the notes smelled like roasted garlic, and now it is time for you to post until the smelly cows come home.

I remember really liking Witness when I saw it.  And it was one of the first (if not the first) times that I saw Patti LuPone on the big screen, playing his sister.

I had lots of dreams but I only remember bits of the last.  I was working at Goodspeed on something while they were preparing a production of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well . . . The stage manager was my friend Laura Krause, who had been my internon two shows at the New York State Theatre Institute. I awoke with "Les Timides" (Timid Frieda) running through my head.

I'm home today waiting for an Amazon Fresh delivery. Tomorrow I will go in for my hip and knee x-rays.

This is turning into a shitty day. First the kitty litter-grocery bag bag leaks, then my Amazon Fresh delivery scheduled between 9:00 and 11 arrives at 7:50.

WTF?

One good thing happened: my Kritzerland Indiegogo loot arrived in yesterday's post and I picked it up this morning. I cannot wait to look through everything.

First, i have groceries to put away.

This morning I have to get myself moving and straighten up the part of the basement the furnace guy has to walk through in order to do its annual tune-up.

I was thinking about Witness lately, when watching a couple of other films of Peter Weir. I always think back to my first viewing of it at the Bruin with friends, and how we were blown away by it. But I even enjoyed an additional layer of blown-away-ness by having just spent a couple of weeks in our office in the outskirts of Philly, and having explored that very Lancaster County / Amish country on my own a few times. I'd fallen completely in love with the beauty of the place, the food, and being around the people to the small extent that an outsider can be. It's now been too many years since I've driven over and spent any time there, and I look forward to making up for that.

DR Elmore -- that Amazon Fresh delivery is ALWAYS way earlier than the window they give you, isn't it? I wonder why it's so consistent in that way.

This is great news, and now I'm excited at the prospect of finding mine at the front door soon. I deliberately didn't think about it much after the campaign closed, so now it's a thrill knowing it's time for things to arrive.

I hope DR Jrand70 will be able to drop in and give us an update on The Situation in Indiana. I was also curious as to the age of the pianist, since she'd had her first shot and was only about to get her second. Oy! Hoping for the best, even though I'm not sure what that best should consist of.

Exercising helped me to feel a little bit more peppy.   But only a little.

I must be first on their route. I always request 9-11 since I need time to get my small apartment in order. My very first Amazon Fresh deliver arrived at 8:20, and the others until now have arrived between 8:45 and 9:15.

Has any DR ever listened to any of the symphonies of English composer Havergal Brian?    Just curious about them.

I would not mind if someone smelled like roasted garlic.  In fact, I have smelled like roasted garlic myself once or twice.

I think Witness is my favorite Patti LuPone movie.

Her being in it was one of many reasons I went to see it on opening day. Peter Weir was another. I loved it then, love it now.

I thought I saw Lukas Haas’s name in a review last week. Can’t remember the movie, but he was playing a villain.

So as luck will have it (and it will, it will), I'm the latest target for early arrivals. My time frame for the furnace guy was noon to 2 pm, but they called at 9:45 to say the technician had time available due to a cancellation, and could he come over and do it earlier? In this case, of course, they always call to ask, and getting it over with this morning was totally fine by me. So I said yes, and they said he'd be there in half an hour. Then he showed up only 20 minutes later, but that was fine, too. So here we are. And here I sit while he gets the job done.
