THE SPARKLING ICE REPORT

Black Cherry -- wonderful, a top favorite.
Ginger Lime -- wonderful, also a top favorite.

Black Raspberry -- it's fine, too, but though I used to get raspberry in just about anything, I'm kind of over it right now.

I'd almost be fine with just those first two, and call it a day, but there are a couple of others I want to try. And the price is nice, at $1 per bottle at the local supermarket. Is that what it is elsewhere? Does it show up cheaper anywhere?

Today is my brother-in-law’s birthday. My sister Brigitte sent a photo of the whole family, about 30 of them. Thei kids, grandkids and great-grandkids  plus spouses

Happy birthday to your brother-in-law, John!

And now, I must (finally) get my butt outta bed and take a shower so that I can be ready for my Zoom union meeting.  I also need to shower, because right after the meeting's over, I'm going to my sister's to help her daughter give her cat medicine.

Her mom would help, but she's off with friends.  Someone needs to hold the cat while my niece squirts the medicine in her mouth, and my niece can't hold the cat and get the cat's mouth open AND squirt it in with any chance of success.

A meeting of the clergy in Indiana seems superfluous.

DR JohnG, how does your ma like her new home now that she's settled in?

I've been buying it on Amazon in cases of 12 bottles and with shipping, it's $12.10.

She likes it just fine. But one of her kids is still on the scene. When Linda leaves in a week or so, we'll see.

I'm also waiting for AT&T to give up her phone number. They still won't let Spectrum have it.

Glad to read that our East Coast DRs seem to have been spared somewhat from Henri's onslaught.

2 episodes of Belgravia to go.  We're also half-way finished with Tomorrowland.

I don't know if I am limber enough anymore to do this quickly.  With so many cats I became an expert at quickly giving medications.  Liquid was more difficult than pills.

It's 95 out there now. I went out to water and came back wet with sweat.

I did see the most gorgeous cluster of dragonflies enjoying the golden sunlight of the late afternoon. I've never seen that many in the backyard before. I wonder what's back there that is to their liking.

There have plenty of beautiful orange and black moths on the chives lately, which are in full bloom. There must be 40 or so blooms this year. I've never seen that many before.

Read about 60 pages in Jeff Abbott's latest, An Ambush of Widows, which is set in Austin and involves the murders of two men. Their widows are trying to figure out, separately so far, whodunnit. I think they'll team up eventually. Good page turner.

While I am glad it isn't 95 degrees here I wish it wasn't warmer and not damp.

A new person who has been attending church had some kind of medical emergency today. She fell asleep during the sermon (I know, I know). I moved over next to her and I'd rouse her and she'd fall back to sleep. She would jerk awake when I said her name, then fall back to sleep. I got her a glucose tablet I had kept in the sound booth years ago. I kept waiting for it to take effect. I'd rouse her, and she'd wake up and smile and tell me she was ok and was feeling better. Her smile didn't droop and she could raise both of her hands, so I don't think it was a stroke. I finally walked her out to the church library and sat her on a sofa and called 911.

We really don't know her. She did tell me she was diabetic. We only know her first name and that she lives in the group home on the corner.

The paramedics were there within minutes, and they called for an ambulance and took her to the hospital.

I probably should have called 911 earlier, but really I only waited about five to ten minutes for the glucose tablet to kick in. The minister was still preaching when the paramedics arrived. So it felt like a long time, but I don't think it really was.

I mean, if we called the paramedics every time someone fell asleep during a sermon ...

Thanks to the weather either my allergies are bad or I am getting a cold.  I can't afford to have either right now.

I asked where they were taking her so the minister could visit her. They did tell me that. But we don't even know her last name, so it would be hard for him to find her with HIPAA laws in place.
