Last week, when I checked to see that my paycheck was deposited, I also checked the balance in my savings account where the loan is taken from.

Then, I checked the amount left on my loan...which I had done very often.

AND there was about $200 MORE in my savings account that was was left on the loan!!

I picked today as the day for the loan to end.

I received the payoff statement and that had the information to either mail a check or to wire the funds.

This weekend, I went to Fred Meyer to find out about wiring money, but the woman I spoke with didn't sound like she knew as much as someone who was going to take my money should.

But then I looked around the credit union's website again and found that they have a phone number to call that was specifically to set up the wiring of funds to the collection agency (their term)!

So, I called yesterday, gave them all the information on the payoff statement, and they said that the money would go out this morning.

It was taken out of my savings account, but I didn't know how long it would take before my loan balance would actually show as paid...would it be over night...a few days...a week??
