I don't remember the relative release dates of The Stephen Schwartz Album versus the London Cast Recording of The Baker's Wife, but the London cast recording had the slower intro to "Meadowlark."  And yes, it is a bummer not getting arrangement credits.

DR vixmom, your hair is so long I did not recognize you at first. I think we all hate to hear our own voices - at least I do - but you have a lovely voice with a gentle regional accent.

Thank you dear Elmore…and yes, I haven’t had a hair cut since February of 2020…

I’m  curious to see how long my hair can get

BK that seems very wrong about you not getting credit for your arrangement

Well, I finished filling out the application. All I had to do was changer AJ Clarke Real Estate Corp. to AJ Clarke and it went through. The problem is, I signed and agreed to a lot of things I still do not know what the fat hell they mean!

HA!  Congrats to MR BK on finding Cassie.

Reading in the notes about the borrowed/stolen arrangements is most infuriating to be sure.

Tonight we are having a Family Night in which members of the cast can invite family members to watch the show and take photos.

Tomorrow night is our official opening night - the first performance of TEN!

Agree about how raggedy the band sounds on the original West Side Story.
What a watershed event that score was then.

I, too, subscribe to the mono Trouble in Tahiti as being the "right" one. I discovered the piece while still at school, or perhaps just after getting out of school, not sure.

(I wonder if I bought the vocal score from Patelson's or at de Keyser Music in Hollywood, because that would sure tell me. Damn it to hell. I like to remember those things.)

Anyhoo, I *think* that might have still been the only recording then. Either that, or I chose it because I knew of Beverly Wolff. I do know that a couple of others I've heard have lacked that special something.

Three different cheeses?

I'm not a bleu cheese eater, but good cheese combinations can be wonderful. I always first and foremost remember a favorite breakfast sandwich that I believe had three. And if you haven't had a good four-(or more)-cheese macaroni, you haven't lived.

In my mind, I've always linked Trouble in Tahiti with Ned Rorem's Four Dialogues. They seem kind of cut from the same cloth. And both are delightfully wonderful.

Vixmom -- you watched a Harold Lloyd short and liked it? And you hadn't seen any of his stuff before now? If I'm reading that correctly, you have some wonderful watching ahead of you.

I got into Harold Lloyd just a few years ago, when I got the opportunity to play a new score for The Freshman in a small professional orchestra. It was a one-time public showing and I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. Part of the thrill was getting to know the movie, which is a favorite now, and the Criterion edition is the only way to go.  Lloyd was one of the best.

From Jennifer:

Quote
In Quebec 80% of those 12 and over are fully vaccinated. But as of Sept 1st those who are not are no longer allowed to go to bars, restaurants, gyms, food courts...  And I love it. So happy that those people now have to stay home.

That's great.  Hopefully it will help reduce the number of covid patients in the hospitals.

I just read a story of identical twin brothers, one had J&J, the other nothing.  One had a fever for three days while the other died in the hospital :(

That was the lake that the trail goes around.  Here's some kind of flying bug that neither of us had seen before:

It's a dragonfly.

Probably a widow skimmer.
