This Friday, my one co-worker Linda (the only one who really knows what the heck she's doing) is going on vacation for two and a half weeks. I've been learning a lot of things to do while she's gone, and our new co-worker who just started last Wednesday has also been learning stuff, but we are both still learning. Fortunately (for me and my new co-worker), Linda will have her laptop with her and be able to answer (the m)any questions that we'll have. I will definitely try to keep that to a minimum.

I guess it must feel good to her that she is essential in that way.

Yikes, I'd read yesterday's notes. I'll go read the Jewish notes. I'm trying to decide between online holiday services, but maybe the Jewish notes will set the mood.

That's sad news about Andy Probst, BK. We were good friends for some time, and then he stopped answering emails or phone calls. I'm grateful for his escorts from colonoscopies and the kind reviews he gave my work and sorry that my copies of his two books were never signed,

This was not a good weekend in so many ways. I do not like depression, I fret over my health too much, I pissed off my brother Randy pissing and moaning ove that goddamned Ohio property, I wish I had work, every promising project I've worked on seems to go nowhere, and I worry about the cats after I'm dead.

tonight is opening night.

Last night was bad....bad....pages of dialog were skipped....and then some people decided to go back....and some other people decided not to go back.....

fortunately this was a part of the play where I have only a couple of lines.....which I said when I heard my cues.....

BK posted about Taco Bell, and I had just read that this last original (or very early) mission-style one in Laguna Beach is closing this very week. Seems the landlord is raising the rent higher than they can pay. What a shocker.

It's sad, because that's what they looked like when I went to my first one in the 1970s.

Everything was distinctive then, with its own style and feel. I think if you covered up their signs, most of today's fast food chains would be nearly indistinguishable from one another.
