Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the Amazon Firestick, and now it is time for you to post until the Amazon cows come home.

It wasn't a bad night of sleep - no loud trucks or construction, thank God! - so I'd call it a so-so night. I was restless and faithful Annabelle and Thatch stuck with me. Stella never came near the bed.

I looked forward to seeing Co-Op on the new Criterion disc, but I didn't watch it too long once I decided it was not as good as it should have been: the shots of the orchestra "musicians" not really playing while the synthesized (?) tracks played, was the man in charge of the music unable to do a good Tunick parody?; the uninspired dialogue . . . it wasn't for me.

BK,I almost watched the new  blu-Ray last night, but I got caught up in the biography of director John Murray Anderson, so I think we'll watch it tonight.

I love Thoroughly Modern Millie, but I do agree with you about the film. I think at 90 to 105 minutes it would be a much better, much sharper and funnier movie. I think Joe Layton's work is stylish, and the costume and set design are really fantastic, the three major elements the maladroit stage version completely missed as they mangled the script.

DR John G., do you know about this book?  Out of print, now, but it's supposed to be the authority on writing/formatting recipes intended for publication.

Excited about the new Kritzerland releases.

I've had nearly all of the CDs from their original release, but I'm really happy that BK is redoing them since so many people are being introduced to them. I still think of Ben very fondly.

I must get as much of my usual morning chores done before the grocery delivery arrives. After that's out of the way, I'm doing as little as possible.

Well, this is fun! My friend John Owen Edwards is conducting his reduction of Tunick from the Chichester Festival production, and my friend Jason Howard is singing Carl-Magnus. Susan Hampshire os the Countess, and Maria Friedman is Petra. I am not always crazy about Mr Yap's recordings, but I do like this one and prefer it to the original London cast recording.

I need to take things to the basement and pick up yesterday's mail, only I don't know when the Amazon order will arrive. If I knew they would be here after 9:00 I could go now, but they've been as early as 8:15 for a 9:00 delivery, so I wait.

Nice sound. Great to see Susan Hampshire freed from The Pallisers garb. But the sync of vocals to video was off too many times.

They had the score in front of them. Very different from Company, where the cast didn’t.

Will look for this, Singdaw. I think this is the main reason I took an extra year working on Mom’s cookbook.

Has anyone reported this already? I am reading that Peter Palmer died yesterday, one day after his 90th birthday.

A friend here has a Firestick, and he has the same issue with the audio.

In his case, it's definitely a case of having an old receiver without enough inputs. His receiver is the hub of the system with all sources plugged into it, and the Firestick is a source, along with disc player, cable box, etc.

If an intermission is that early relative to the length of the movie, right off the bat the whole thing is out of balance. It needs to happen at least at the halfway point, doesn't it?
