Small world DRCILLALIZ.

I met Brent when we did a production of PARTY in Indianapolis, he was also a tennis pro on the Northside of Indy...and had a few "clients" on the side which I discovered when he left his pager at the theatre one night.  He then joined the army and then he met Michael Peterson, I think.

He was in Indy last summer to do NAKED BOYS SINGING and included his Court TV appearance in his bio....and I asked him about it.....whew!

And here's your friend in the show!

It looks like a number in THE FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL, which is actually a better show and score than NAKED BOYS SINGING!

Small World indeed. Did you see "The Staircase?" I can't remember if it was Showtime or which movie channel had it, maybe Sundance Channel. It was a 6 part series on the case. There was a lot about Brent in it. Much more than on Dateline.

I know David from the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.  He's a great guy. He really believed in Peterson's innocense. The verdict really hit him hard.

Nope didn't see any other show or program about it.

OMG DR ELMORE where did you find that photo?  That has a couple of my friends in it.  Didn't think much about the show and turned down the opportunity to choreograph it....because I didn't know where to start!

Yup there is Brad/Brent on the far right.

It was Sundance. Here's a link to the site for The Staircase. If you go to the biographies, Brent is listed under "Male Escort" Did you know he won a TV on "The Price is Right"?

I'll be seeing Putnam County Spelling Bee this coming Wednesday. I'm looking forward to it, but I have to keep the hype out of my mind. I don't want to be disappointed. I do like Bill Finn's work (I don't know him) so I think this should be quite fun.

Yes, unless there is some unforseen problem, there will be a number from Spelling Bee on the Tonys. The pre-show (different from the Red Carpet, obviously) only available beginning at 7pm EST at

http://www.tonyawards.com/

will show the awarding of some of the less high profile awards, design, costume, possibly direction and choreography. That leaves more room in the 3 hour CBS broadcast for what they consider major awards and numbers from the nominated shows.

I'll be seeing Doubt on Tuesday and Pillowman either Thursday or Friday. It's like people seeing all the nominated movies before the Oscars, only more expensive. When I see Doubt and Pillowman I will have seen all the major nominations, IIRC. Then on to the Tonys on June 5th.

DR BEN - I will look forward to your comments.  I like Finn's work as well!

As to how much Brent gets around - I don't think we want to know!  Once during PARTY he mentioned that a client had suffered a heart attack during a session.....and when I looked askance.....it assured me it was one of his "tennis" clients at the Club....not one of the others.

Well....they were naked and they were singing...and if everybody in the world is divided up into "girls and boys", by that definition, they were boys.

I am still very worried about LA CAGE. Les Cagelles have come and gone, the music director has not been totally committed to the show (she was a replacement for the original music director, and I'm not sure she really wanted to do the show) and has left us several nights with just a no talent pianist to struggle along with. The entire enterprise has been too slapdash for my taste, and I will say with firmness that I will not be auditioning for their production of SEUSSICAL next season. I'll be trying some other theater troupes in the area. One's doing OLIVER! in the fall, another KISS ME KATE. I may try my luck with them.

Will they do a number from it on the Tony telecast?

I think I read at Playbill.com today that parts of two SPELLING BEE songs will be done on the Tonys.

LOST was excellent. Seven minutes in, I jumped out of my seat and hollered at what I was seeing. There were two more "jump" moments for me in the show, too, and wonderful cliffhangers to keep us breathless until fall. Great show!

I had NO idea that DEADWOOD was the season finale! Oh, no! I have really enjoyed this season, I think possibly even more than the first season.

Sad to read about Eddie Albert though to live to 99 is indeed a full life.

In his honor, I may put in a GREENACRES episode tomorrow to enjoy. Am still getting through DIE HARD 2. It's always been an enjoyable thrill ride (but doesn't have the breathless brilliance of the original).

DRMATTH - I have been involved in a couple of productions like you are going through.  And those are the theatres I don't go back to either.  There are too many who make it an enjoyable experience for the actors, staff, AND audience.

One of my goals as a director is to get the good people back - and I usually do.  And people who start with me at the Playhouse usually audition for me again and again....and when they get into shows with other directors, they let me know how "different" it is...LOL.

Watching THE EXORCIST II...never seen it, but since it's on AMC, it will have editing and LOTS of commercials!

I think it's one of the very worst sequels ever made, and with their editing, a ridiculous film will probably seem even more nonsensical.

But I have known folks who liked it, so what do I know?

I didn't get my Turkish movie ( I forgot it was shipping from Greece...so I suppose that could take more then a few days) but I did get a couple of the Japanese horror films...am now watching MANSION OF THE GHOST CAT (1957)...it is quite creepy.

Good Evening!

Mamma Mia!.... Here I go again... and again... and again...

;)

Now I just need to find out from the contractor just how many more "agains" I actually have coming up.  As do the other keyboard players/standbys.  :-\
