George, I talked to Jen York who directed CLUE, and she said most of the cast doesn't come out front because of Covid.  Did anyone come out while you were there?

So, DR ChasSmith, how about that Fantasticks last night? (I hear you ask)

Worst ever. At least, of those I've seen live. A total fail. A few of the actors had potential to be pretty good in their roles. But there was no direction. And the music direction (notably, the piano playing by the music director) was completely inept. Shockingly so. It might even take the prize for being the worst realization of the score ever.

But as I said I would, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Sadly, this was foreshadowed at the diner beforehand. The cheeseburger deluxe was way overcooked, and they don't know from cole slaw -- I could only get through two bites of the glop, and it was a huge serving. However, the bacon on the burger, the fries, and the coffee were all great.

So, a mixed evening. But it was still great to be out and about.

No harp. As expected. Thankfully, no bass or drums either. (I do not like the "orchestrated" versions.)

But seriously, no harpist could have played with that person.

But ChasSmith, did they add mothers??  I've seen two different productions by the same director/music director where he added mothers and split the fathers' lines between them. :o

I saw a couple people, but don't remember who.  They weren't Deya, Dana, or Colonel Mustard (I forget his real name).

It made sense.  I guess I just didn't think about it at the time.

ADD mothers, so that there were four parents? Or change the fathers to mothers?

This was just the standard book, with only Tom Jones' latest script tweaks. If you saw it done that way in the past, it might not have been sanctioned. But Tom only recently completed his gender switch version, and as far as I know, its premiere performance just happened within the past month or two.

Annabelle's feeling good and she and Stella are a but too frisky this morning. So far, Annabelle's leaping from table to dresser to filing cabinet has resulted in my cup of coffee splashed all over the table, and a cup containing pens, scissors, letter opener and other paraphernalia on top of the filing cabinet knocked over and spilled all over the floor.

A Butt Too Frisky is the name of my next novel.

Or maybe Frisky Butt is a good stage name.

I take lousy photos with my phone, but here's my attempt to get a photo of my framed Victor Herbert letter from Rob Berman's mother.

Both productions that I saw had four parents instead of just two dads.  The director attempted another production and announced the addition of mothers without getting the rights and they were sent a cease and desist letter and had to fire the women and present it as written...as it should be!  He didn't get permission for the two productions that I saw, but he didn't get caught with those.

What I would really like to do is make a vat of split pea soup.

I don't particularly like going on and off Daylight Savings Time, but there's nothing to be done about it, I suppose.

You could use other beans or pasta, though the pasta ain't exactly diet friendly. Or diabetic friendly.
