Monday evening greetings!  At about 10:15 this morning, Richard accidentally gave his right foot a bath with scalding hot tea.  I immediately put cold compresses on it, but decided to call 911 when he started hyperventilating.  They took him to the ER, where it was determined he has second degree burns.  They treated him with pain meds and antibiotic salve and we were home after a couple of hours.

All in all, I would rather have gone to Target, which was our original plan for the day.

OUCH!

Oh, God, how awful! I hope he's okay.  I assume he's not wearing a shoe for a while.

Thank you, DRs Jane, Elmore, and John G.  He’s taking it easy and watching his “comfort” movies.

How awful, DR Ginny. My son did that to his foot. We had appointments with the doctor every other day for a while to be sure it didn't get infected.

One thing to know -- it will change looks as it heals. It may look weird and awful, but sometimes that's how the healing looks.

Thanks, DR Laura.  Richard has been referred to the burn clinic at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, where I landed when I had my heart attack 11+ years ago.

I forgot about the risk of infection.  My hand became infected after burning it in the oven.  Fortunately I could easily see the beginning of the red strip from the infection and immediately went to a walk in clinic.

Good luck he can get an appropriately timed appointment.

Not really.  They were not the best paramedics I’ve ever encountered.

DR George I am sorry you won't be able to make the trip to Portland.  Do you know what area he wants to go to?  There are still shops open, however, he downtown is a bit sad.

We went to 23rd Street and walked around.  The only store we shopped in was William Sonoma.  The downstairs was as beautiful as ever but the upstairs was totally empty  :-\

Thanks, Jane, but it's fine.  I invoicing to finish today, so it's a good thing that I'm at work now. :) He said he wants to get an iPhone for one of his sons (he has two), but my sister's boyfriend said that Apple is having a huge sale (40-50% off!) begining tomorrow.  So, we might go to the Apple store at the Centralia outlet mall, and since I have tomorrow off, I can go then.

No tax savings at the mall ;)

If he purchases an iPhone here will it be compatible in Germany?

No tax savings in Centralia, but big savings from the sale will definitely offset the tax.

As for compatibility, my uncle expects it to be.  I guess you just need a new Sim card, and a power plug that converts the Euopean power to what this made-in-the-US phone uses.
