Then Ron started to talk - and thirty minutes later we had all heard his life story with a guest appearance by Uncle Wayne.

As he got to end - finally - there was a ruckus a few rows behind us.

Sue's husband Lee had collapsed in his chair......

Chris called 911 and the paramedics arrived as we were all making one last trip around the casket.

Then a short ride to the cemetery - with five scheduled pall bearers and a sixth fill in since Sue's son Aron had gone to hospital with her...

A side note. My Uncle's insurance from his work at the Allison Division of GM still had my grandmother as the beneficiary....so my Aunt Martha needed to sign a release so that the proceeds could be applied to the $17,000 cost of the service.

I said Aunt Martha would have no problem with it, but Troublesome Tina I am sure would be a road block. Early in the day, as Chris approached Aunt Martha to explain why he needed her signature - we don't know the amount of the benefit - but that Uncle Wayne intended that as burial insurance..... I grabbed Tina and took her aside to talk about something important.

Chris explained things to Aunt Martha and she was happy to sign....if the benefit is greater, of course she receives the difference.

My sister Paula and I went with Marcie and her husband Mike (the fill in pall bearer) and their grandson Lindon (he is exactly like Young Sheldon - exactly) and cousin Carol over to the Coachman for an early dinner which was fun.....

True, but we don't as we don't walk around unless we stay the night, and we haven't done that since before we moved into our condo. Sometimes we stop at a bakery I like because it is conveniently located near our good friend's home.

We also have a package of Kerrygold butter I splurged on. That's pricey compared to the everyday stuff. But SO good. Kings is what I think of as Hawaiian bread.

DR JANE you are correct I will be submitting my billable hours to the estate to be compensated for my time.

I am not sure what the rate is - but it's something.
